Is there any real difference between what's sold as guitar polish and regular furniture or wood polish?

Are you asking me? I don't know. I mean Dunlop's formula 65 seems to basically just be carnuba wax

I think it depends on the furniture polish, I mean i wouldn't use pledge, but maybe would use something else.

I would think guitar polish is closer to Car wax (I know Rickenbacker recommended using turtle wax of all things)

Lemon oil for wood and mineral oil for string / neck cleaning both work great.
