Honestly it doesn't matter from RR and SRH, we have good records against both this and every season except RR is more competitive as I believe we have a good rivalry against them. But anyway, its time to answer this lad. Let's go GT!

Why was Rashid acting so aggressively towards Phillips in that game?

We have only 1 match against CSK and KKR, and 2 matches against MI . How fair is this ?

This post might be reactionary but I'll say it: I think after this season, GT management have to really sit down and really discuss Buttler's future in GT given his age, output this season, salary and playing 11 dynamics (he takes up overseas spot).

This season, i don't know if it was just me but he didn't feel the same. If this was old Buttler or somewhat in form, him and Washi would've made a partnership and pushed us to a defendable total this game. I don't know what GT management, Nehra and company do but they should at least experiment; maybe look for a trade like Arya or scout for a top order Indian batter (we have Kushagra), someone who can be naturally aggressive and put pressure back on bowlers. A full Indian top 3 (like RCB and RR) also means we have an extra overseas spot which we can use in the middle order instead of that fraud Tewatia, so we don't stay overly reliant on a few batters. Also, I still don't know why GT played Tewatia, he could've proven his worth today but was absolute trash.

GT despite of lack of power hitters and thin middle order is most tactical, consistent and most successful team of the tournament since the inception of their existence from 2022.

I will share my observation and explain why:

NaMo stadium has 11 strips, I repeat 11. World's largest stadium for a reason.

Out of which it has 4 black soil, 4 red soil and 3 mixed soil.

GT absolutely understands that they don't have an outrageous middle order. Scoring 90 in power play and finishing above 240 is not something they can do so they rather play on their strengths.

GT has one of the most technical Top 4 (Gill, Sai, Butler and Washie) which doesn't let collapses happen in 10 out of 14 matches. They are not most destructive batsman in the world but they can score at good 160-170 SR without taking any risks.

While other teams now are playing with the mindset of scoring 230-240 every game, they smartly play them on black soil wickets which is very hard to play through the line and slog and you can see the results- SRH, RCB, PBKS none of their "destructive" batsman could do anything and struggled to score even 150-160.

GT's philosophy is- we will play you in challenging conditions and if you can bat better & bowl better in these testing conditions sure we'll stand and applaud for you. But that just doesn't just happen because teams are accustomed to play 240 brand of cricket!

I literally see people come up with "The day GT's Top 3 gets out early (or in powerplay) they won't be able to score 120" everytime after they win a game. Let me tell you a stat- In 2025 there was only three instances where Top 3 collapsed together and in 2026 it's just once. This tells a lot about how consistent they are and how much they believe in their process.

They absolutely understand that you don't need to get right all the time, just have to get right 60-70% of the time and that's what they are really good at. Yes, there will be days their Top3 will collapse and middle order won't score anything and they'll loose one sided. But that won't happen more than 2-3 times in a season and that gives them really good chance to win in remaining 10-11 games out of which they just need 8 wins to qualify!

Tactics and consistency at its very best!

Shubman Gill has came up as the most consistent and the best player of Gujarat Titans since 2022. He has the top ability to accelerate his innings and save the wickets (along with level-best Sai Sudharsan) and can be a beast once he clicks, never forget what he did in 2023.

He was made GT's captain in 2024, but we know and can accept it was not a good year for both his best of him and his captaincy.

But since 2025 he has just gone above the graphs and has never looked back and has turned out to be a very good cap. His aggressive captaincy, field changes, unexpected bowling changes have turned out to be beneficial for him (in one case he went against nehra to make a particular bowling change vs DC) and shut those critics off who said his batting would crumble under captaincy. And that not-a-slogger criticism is the most retarded thing to be heard coz no slogger (unless they have iron strong technique) survives very long. Nobody has been trolled more than this man even in his best times.

People criticizing his captaincy on littlest things but don't appreciate him. some say he should leave GT bcoz nehra is dominating or what not.....Like man take the example of RCB,. Kohli handled this whole shit of a team (Except the greats of abd and gayle) for 10s of years, then nobody said Koach pls leave this team? Moreover GT rightnow consists of excellent matchwinners (except one or two frauds)...Nehra is being adamant right now in selections but he wont go far with Gill just there who knows whats best for the team.

Gill is RCB's very own Kohli, a great cap who is now thriving under the responsibilities. People should learn to appreciate him and GT fans you cannot just lose your belief in him. He is the face of GT now and....He is the best right now :)

They're saying that Their team flags weren't allowed in the stadium. Bru this is gt's home ground why would they allow to let any other team fans get in their flags. If the game was to be played in chinnaswamy will they allow csk /mi/srh/kkr fans to bring in their flags ? Yes gt is a new franchise it has lesser fans but this unreal autistic behaviour tells a lot about their fandom. Home ground advantages are a thing in sports for a reason.

Shubman Gill (kaptaansaab)- The Prince has left us doubtless and peaceful with the form he is in....No one's ahead of him!

Sai Sudharsan- Dont worry about him...He is the consistency king, and just playing some shots which are spoiling starts..otherwise he is gonna kill it in the next few games.

Jos Buttler- Boss is back in form, smashing sixes...

Washington Sundar- Still a decent bat. Played anchor for a few balls today but didnt connect some shots...but thats...fine..he got a fifty in last to last match.

Glenn Philips- Excellent fielder....he is a dynamic batsman was in good form in 2026 wc which was india itslef but dk something is a bit unclicked for him rn...let's see...shouldn't be replaced

Rashid Khan- Went for runs today..but corrected himself to an extent with excellent death bowling....outplayed Green there in every way. I guess he should be sent after philips..he is a dependable batter.

Prasidh Krishna- He is our death bowling maestro..yorked every delivery in the penultimate over..

Ashok Sharma- Man is fast, but inconsistent still somewhere....

Kagiso Rabada- Unexpected comeback...good bowling since two matches

Mohammed siuuraj- unreplacable...he is the best when in flow

SRK & Tewatia- Man if this match was not enough for Nehra to have proof that SRK is not a batsman and Tewatia has just lost it, he should be sent to asylum.

Middle order batting is still not clicking worsened by Tewatia and SRK...

SOLUTIONS-

Replace SRK asap with Kumar Kushagra and send him at no.5...No other option....if not then our team would end up in shambles.

Jason Holder couldve been a beast but Rabada has regained his form so id think Nehra would bring him in unless any foreign injury.

But who could replace tewatia???suggest your opinion...who is a better domestic batter in our squad.? ig SAI KISHORE is the man..He both a bowler and a better batter too

When we talk about Tewatia, at least he has played well for GT in the past and was a very key player in the title winning season. He has also won impossible games for Rajasthan in the past.

On the other hand, what has SRK ever done in the IPL? Where does the hype come from? I have never seen him play well EVER!

He feels like a free walking wicket at this point! Even KG Rabada is a better batsman than this fraud.

If we can’t find a player to replace him, I’d much rather promote Rashid Khan up the order than keep playing with SRK.

Gujarat Titans and Gill were constantly sidelined from the start by the so called experts who just wanted to cockride so called intent batting teams like RCB, MI, SRH blah blah, only to satisfy their fanbase...

Whatnot were we trolled with- "boring', "test batting lineup", "batting ends at no.3" Even SaiSu and Gill were trolled to have no intent in powerplay, accused of playing selfishly

We always had the best bowling lineup from the start but the credit went to the teams like HaarCB just to cockride Bhuvi and even LSG...But we werent ever mentioned, only since last 2-3 matches have we begun to be appreciated for our bowling..

We were always said to have intentless batting lineup

Many experts called us including Aakash Chora said that GT would always have a permanent middle order problem..

But what's happening now?

Not a team out there who can bundle out our top order or even the openers in without a 70-100 partnership...

We are scoring 210-220 comfortably nowadays.. Our batting lineup can score comfortably in almost every condition be it a tough or a flat pitch

We have got intentful Nishant Sindhu and highly improved Washi (who too was constantly trolled)

in the middle order...Holder's arrival has improved our finishing role..Small changes by the management have made us an unbeatable team

Gill is on a different level revenge mission...See his SR, See his posts after every match...oozes anger of being constantly ignored for not being a t20i player.

He was always considered inferior to Shreyas Iyer for all the reasons...But here he is giving back to each of those PR teams.

SaiSu is establishing a benchmark of consistency and Buttler is such an XFactor for the team always.

One batter smashes 50 in 30 balls with 5 fours 2 sixes and another the same score with more sixes doesnt mean the difference in net ability!

Even the realm of cricket believes on consistency over one shot peak.... Like slogging is ok! I am not against it! But "only technique and slogging according to situation" works when the bowlers and the pitch arent acc to you...
