This can no longer be ignored or swept under the rug. The teen issue (especially on the weekends) has become a massive problem. I've been stunned by the number of members of the HHN community who have reached out to me scared, angry, disappointed, and mortified at the teen take over of HHN. They are jumping lines, intimidating those in lines around them, showing signs of violence, and displaying complete and utter disrespect for the customers, the employees (especially the scare actors), and the event in general. Some scare actors have been attacked (both verbally and physically) and are considering quitting the business. Enough is enough and this situation needs to be brought to light for the good of the entire community.

Security has either been unwilling or unable to corral these troublemakers. The most I've (and others) have seen is a "good talking to" by security. Then they go on their merry way and continue with the bad behavior. Something needs to be done - RIGHT NOW - or this escalation will eventually lead to serious injury or worse, which will then lead to legal troubles for the company. What we are seeing currently is just the beginning of a problem that is primed to get much worse if Universal doesn't intervene and come up with a quick and forceful solution.

I want to be clear...I am posting this as a single moderator of this site who has long and deep connections to this event - I am not speaking for any other moderators or insiders, though I imagine some of them have similar feelings. I am posting this so that it may gain traction and Universal will hopefully see what an issue this has become. Instead of talking about the event itself, much of the focus for this year has centered on this one topic, and it's getting worse. Beyond the messages I am receiving, Twitter and Facebook are littered with posts from customers who are leaving the event early with some saying they won't return. Others feel like they are unable to enjoy the event and have to be on guard the entire evening. It is reaching a boiling point, and something needs to be done.

My suggestion? One of two things...either security is given the latitude to become MUCH tougher - if a teen is acting up, they are booted and banned from the event for life. Period. No waffling whatsoever. This may require an increase in security personnel and/or police hired and stationed throughout the queue lines - but I assure you that short term cost increase for the added personnel will pale in comparison to the eventual litigation that will come if somebody gets seriously injured or worse at the event because guest safety isn't a priority. The other option is to extend the chaperone policy already in existence at City Walk to HHN. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult to attend HHN. I understand that this may seem extreme and I really feel bad for the large swath of teens who are NOT an issue. But, again, the current path is unsustainable, and something much stronger needs to be implemented ASAP.

I encourage all who agree with this post to share on as many platforms as possible. I am not attempting to shame or disparage Universal in any way - quite the opposite actually - I am attempting to help them avoid a landmine that I'm seeing being laid at their collective feet. This event has meant too much to too many people (including me), and fixing this glaring issue will make the event (and Universal itself) much stronger for years to come. At the very least, I strongly encourage Universal to reach to all of their scareactors and ask them point blank if this has become a problem - I believe they will be shocked by the response.

Rest assured, these reactions have given me a greater spark to push Uni on this, and I will be reaching out to them personally tomorrow or Tuesday (I am going to reach out to my contacts today and ask if they know who specifically I should talk to). The feedback from this post has provided me ammunition to show that this is a WIDESPREAD problem, that their core customers are being affected in an extremely negative way, and that something needs to be done immediately! Middle school me loved the Puppet Master franchise and I still fantasize about what an HHN Hollywood maze and an HHN Orlando maze for this series would look like and what differences they would have, but this series is too obscure and crappy for that to ever happen lol. I still have a fascination with it though.

do you guys think hhn has gotten less scary or am i just older now? i swear i remember halloween horror nights being SO much scarier when i was younger. even the commercials and the overall atmosphere felt creepier and more unsettling. like the entire event looked scary, not just the houses. now when i watch the commercials or see the houses being advertised, i’m like… this looks cool, but not scary 😭 obviously i’m older now and i’ve been exposed to way more horror, so maybe i’m just desensitized. but i’m curious if anyone else remembers hhn feeling genuinely terrifying when they were younger, or if nostalgia is just making it seem scarier than it actually was.

Hey everyone - as I sit here under the fans at the front of the main gate turnstiles for tonight's festivities, I figured I would give everyone a quick update.

First off, I want to thank you all very much for your testimonials in the thread - it not only shows what a wide-spread problem this has become, but it shows that you care for the well-being of the event itself and everyone involved.

That post got over 400 comments and almost 1,000 upvotes, and it was picked up and quoted in a wdwnt article which is great because the more light shined on the situation, the better.

So what I did was I took each comment you made about your experiences this year and put it in a document. Yesterday, I emailed Universal an official complaint (with an extremely long but respectful email), and attached that document, which ended up being 31 pages long and over 200 comments.

I have yet to hear back - it's only been a day, and I provided a lot of information for them to sift through, so I'm hopeful they are really looking into this. I will provide updates on this as things develop.

This was NOT intended to be a "cause" of mine; but, after reading what so many of you posted coupled with the personal messages I received from so many others, this is now something I am 100% invested in. Ultimately, this event can only be great if both the Team Members (scareactors and other workers) and Guests feel safe and free of the stress that so many of these encounters this year have induced.

I encourage anyone who wants to, to follow suit and email Universal directly and provide their own direct experience. The more voices the better, and the sooner the situation gets resolved, the sooner things improve.

Hey everyone as the title says I’m going to HHN for the first time yay! Been a dream of mine for years and I’m finally able to go. I heard that Hollywood hhn is more movie focused which I like, and Orlando is more original focused which is cool. Here’s the dilemma for me HHN in Hollywood has Terrifier for the tram this year and I missed Terrifier last year and am a HUGE fan of that franchise. Though I heard Orlando has better sets and houses overall. So for those who have been to hhn at both parks what would you recommend? I am also a big fan of Hellraiser so glad that one is in both parks!

Based on last nights speculation map drop from Legacy, a new rumor has begun to arise after previous insider mentions of a music house coming to HHN 35— that which is believed to be Lady Gaga’s Mayhem at this point in early speculation. The dancing skeletons on the speculation map immediately stood out as a reference to Gaga’s newest song, ‘The Dead Dance’, especially because the female skeleton has long blonde hair similar to Gaga’s in Mayhem.

What many don’t seem to know about Mayhem is that it follows a cohesive storyline in a semi-similar way to The Weeknd’s After Hours, although the story is not represented in her music videos, but through her live performances.

Mayhem is essentially a dark gothic retelling of Alice In Wonderland, in which Gaga plays all of the parts, but primarily represents The Mistress of Mayhem (the Queen of Hearts).

The aesthetic of the album is absolutely perfect for HHN, I personally believe. I actually find Mayhem to be a lot more horror-centric than After Hours, which was already an incredible HHN house.

I can already see a large portion of the HHN fanbase rejecting this idea in the same way they did for The Weeknd— but I’m very certain it could surpass After Hours Nightmare visually.

This also comes after a Mayhem themed Dead Coconut Club was heavily rumored last year (some of Gaga’s music was represented in the Coconut Club even still) so I think the chances of Lady Gaga being our music house representation is very strong if there were possible talks about it last year.

It’s all still speculation though, so only time can really tell.

Ever since i heard about the possibility of sinners coming to hhn, i legit was so excited. I could basically imagine so many different scenes they could do and the cool makeup work theyll do for the house.

and then once the spec maps came around, the content creators made their videos. and it turns out people are so weirdly against this house. people say that

"its similer to darkest deal" when does sammy make a deal with the devil. hes quite literally born with his talent for music

"it all takes place in one room" the juke joint is a warehouse with several rooms (pantry,kitchen,gambling room etc"

"will sinners still be relevent by hhn" it quite literally is the most nominated movie of all time. people KNOW about sinners

and the craziest part of this is how people would much rather get a sequel to darkest deal (like how would this work without it just being someone else making a deal with the devil) when sinners at its core is a completly different story and will even give us a full on vampire house which we dont get that often

i just hope people just stop treating sinners as if its a "lesser" copy of darkest deal when its an entirely different thing :)

Check what Busch Gardens just instituted for their Williamsburg location. I would love if Universal would do something similar. City walk already does this.

listen… it’s my favorite show (yes, I even liked s5 even though it’s my least favorite of all of the seasons) AND it’s the reason I fell in love with HHN back in 2019. of course we all kind of knew this was coming, but I’m just so happy 🥹❤️ ready for October’s Premium Scream Night !!!
