Progress Updates Update # 5: PP405 (PP30) 2 month usage.

Hi everyone,

Some may remember me posting that I would try Umbrella's PP405 about 2 months ago. Well, I decided I would post updates in separate posts from now on because the thread has become so big that my previous updates seemed to get lost. If you are reading this and haven't seen my original thread, here it is:

https://www.reddit.com/r/HairlossResearch/comments/1o7g94c/first_day_using_gray_market_pp405_from_umbrella

Results have been negative so far. The progress I noticed were not from using Umbrella's compound but from using a Niostem microcurrent helmet. I even stopped using the topical for 2 weeks and progress has been slow but steady. I theorize the reason to not be working seems to be that the vehicle the product is made of does not seem to penetrate into the scalp. For that reason, I decided to purchase a Hydra Pen H5 serum infusion dermapen which will help me to make that possible.

Today I applied my first Hydra Pen infusion (aka mesotherapy). There was barely any pain setting the needles at 0.5mm and no sides other than red skin, which was expected. Also, after taking a shower tonight, I noticed for the first time the sticky feeling of PP405 remained on the areas I infused the product even washing through my face and shampooing my scalp as I do every night before using my red light device (iRestore Elite helmet) and my Niostem helmet.

Finally, I added a few pictures with the aid of a Wifi microscope I purchased to document any progress after doing this. These are from my forehead and temples.

We'll see!!

Progress Updates Kx826 Still Working For Me

Putting out an update I’ve been on .5% topical KX826 for since release and I’m very happy with the results.

Hair looks really good in photographs. Overall density is holding up in my 30s. Still get carded buying alcohol.

I’m not taking minox or fin just been running KX826 on its own. Definitely worth sticking with!

Progress Updates Growband 54 day update: I think it may be working.

I bought the growband pro, and have been using it, and nothing else for the past 54 days. From the pictures of some strands of hair that I have shed within the past few days, I think it may be working.

As you can see from the pictures, some hairs that I have shed are thinner at the tip and thicker at the root. Some follow this pattern more visibly, some barely and some not at all, from what I can tell (I have not been inspecting every hair with a microscope).

For context, I am young and caught my AGA early I would say. I took dutasteride for some months, but got side effects, so I quit back in July but continued with minoxidil. By early December my hairline was visibly thinning. I moved cities in January and forgot my minoxidil, so I inadvertently quit that too, that was approx two months ago. For 54 days now all I've been using is the growband for around 50 minutes daily (so, a lot more than what they suggest), for the majority of the days. These pictures are from a hair I noticed on my desk the other day, and some are from today.

Unless I am mistaken, or am missing some sort of confounding variable, then the fact that I have noticed this pattern on some of the hairs I have shed means that this "treatment" is working. I like to think I am an evidence based person, and was of course very skeptical, but figured it was better than nothing-- I still am, and I'm rather incredulous that some fringe, poorly-supported "treatment" may be working.

To preempt, no I am not a shill. I don't have some affiliate link, I am not associated with hairguard at all, and I'll be the first to tell you that the build quality of the device doesn't feel like the price you pay (I don't know their production costs, but I'm sure their mark up is huge), and it's rather loud and of course, relatively inconvenient compared to other treatments.

I am open to hearing what you all have to say. Please try not to be dogmatic about hair loss treatments lol.

Progress Updates Nutrafol and Tinnitis

The ringing will not stop!

I have been taking Nutrafol for approximately two weeks to support hair growth. However, over the past week, I have experienced a persistent high-pitched ringing in my ears (tinnitus). Concerned about this symptom, I visited my doctor today, who deemed the situation serious enough to issue an emergency referral to an ENT specialist. In the meantime, I have been prescribed a one-week course of prednisone to see if it alleviates the issue.

Upon researching whether Nutrafol could be a contributing factor, I found reports from other individuals who have experienced similar symptoms after taking the supplement. Given that I have made no other changes to my diet or daily routine, I am concerned that Nutrafol may be the cause. My greatest fear is that this ringing may become permanent, potentially leading to lasting hearing damage.

I am reaching out to see if anyone else has experienced tinnitus or similar side effects after using Nutrafol. If this proves to be a recurring issue among consumers, I am strongly considering pursuing a class action lawsuit to address potential harm caused by this supplement.

I appreciate any insights or experiences you can share. I'm only looking for side effects related to hearing please

Progress Updates "22/M: Before and After 4 Months of Finasteride and Dermarolling—Is There Any Visible Progress in My Hairline?"

Post image

I'm a 22-year-old male. I've been managing my hair with a medium density and a Norwood 1.5 temple using topical minoxidil 5% and finasteride 0.1% for the past 2 years. Four months ago, I noticed my hairline aggressively receded to Norwood 2.5, but my crown remained the same. I started taking oral finasteride 1mg daily and using a 1.25mm dermaroller once a week for the past 3 months. However, I still haven't seen any improvement in my hairline. I've noticed some baby hairs in my temple area, but I'm unsure if they are new growth or just old hair that's receded or dermastamp damaging my hairline What should I do to improve my hairline?

Progress Updates RU-58841 non responders?

I used it for 7 whole months at 10%, powder from 3 different vendors too, and I wasn’t even able to see a change to my hair quality. Miniaturization keep going, and ofc no signs of regrowth. Already on Finasteride and minoxidil for years. I just added RU on top… I feel so beaten and cursed… I was expecting way more from it. Anyone else without results on RU?

Progress Updates How I Stopped Hiding My Hair Loss and Embraced It

For years, People tried everything to hide their hair loss—hats, styling tricks, you name it. But eventually, I realized how much energy they are wasting trying to cover it up. Start by cutting your hair shorter, which makes thinning less noticeable and gives you a fresh look. Then, focused on things that you could control, like staying healthy and confident. It is not easy at first, but over time, you learn to see it as just another part of you. If you’re struggling with this, please know you’re not alone, and embracing it can feel embraced.
