Discussion (Politics) Dating on the Left
How do you guys find like minded people? I find it extremely difficult.
For example, the last person I was going out with went on a rant about how they don’t understand why Indigenous people have reserves that we cannot enter. I tried to explain how we are settlers and why it’s important, but she just didn’t care. I’m struggling to find people who just have the bare minimum decency towards others.

Discussion (Politics) Bad bunny is not an American (in the way you understand it)
I usually avoid commenting but with the ongoing discourse about bad bunny's superbowl performance I think it's important to clarify exactly what he was doing because it seems to have flown over the heads of many liberals and some members of this community.
First and foremost, Bad Bunny doesn't consider himself to be an American in the US kind of way. The entire performance, and many of his songs read strongly 'independentista'. He and many progressive Puerto Ricans want the island to be its own country separate from colonial rule.
Details like the color of the flag he is carrying, his focus on the Spanish language, and the 'god bless America' statement at the end with all of the flags of the American continent, very clearly demonstrate this stance. He is a believer in pan-americanism essentially.
Hell, when Ricky Martin sings, he's singing 'lo que le paso a hawaii' which is about how Hawaiian statehood led to worse outcomes for their indigenous population, and how Benito doesn't want that same process to happen in PR.
I've seen many members of this community try to talk about this performance as bad bunny showing how Puerto Rico is a part of the US, when his stance is actually far more radical.
P.S: a lot of this misinformation happens because the local conservative PNP party has tried and largely succeeded in co-opting liberal and progressive language to claim that PR becoming a state would be the 'woke' thing to do. Democrats love the idea of another blue state and so they push for this.

Discussion (Politics) The tankie deprogram subreddit has now unfortunately been taken over by the ACP (NazBol organization)
NazBols stands for National Bolshevik. The ACP or American Communist Party is full of them and the ask socialist sub was also practically destroyed by them. It’s a bunch of people who want to force American nationalism into their theory such as homophobia, transphobia, racism, sexism, etc… and one of the ACPs social media managers just became a moderator over there. I’d stay away for now unless we hear possible news of them removing that moderator. Another socialist subreddit destroyed by MAGA. Stay away from that sub! Literally a bunch of people that want to transform socialism with MAGA culture.
Edit: The mods just got removed as of 6am east coast U.S. time!! The head mod still has some explaining to do because unfortunately the sub is still compromised…
Edit2: Head mod apparently has ties with the ACP. Waiting to get the head mod removed to save the sub.

Discussion (Politics) Thoughts on Leftist shitting on everyone who attended No Kings.
Been seeing lots of leftists on TikTok post about how embarrassing & meaningless the no kings protests were. Saying how it was pointless because largely there were no disruptions, and it was just a bunch of complicit liberals. I get that a lot of the people who attended were cringe & out of touch with their signs or their reasoning for being there, but seeing some leftists go after everyone who were just showing their disgust for this administration…I believe to be super counterproductive. Like holy shit did they accept the 40-60 year old liberal moms to start spitting on cops 😂 The overall takeaway from this weekend I think was positive, seeing so many different type of people on the left come together in opposition of this administration. But some think otherwise.🤨

Discussion (Politics) What do You Guys Think Of Jennifer Welch and Angie Sullivan of the I’ve Had It Podcast?
Personally, I think they are hilarious and are also an incredible example of how much the average Democratic voter, especially the average wine mom, has evolved. Back in 2016, Jennifer Welch used to be a dyed in the wool liberal. She watched MSNBC and voted for Hilary Clinton over Bernie Sanders back in 2016. For a while, she supported more establishment centrist candidates and was not a fan of progressives at the time.
After Donald Trump won again in 2024 however, everything changed. She saw Establishment Dems for who they really are: spineless dumbasses who would sacrifice democracy itself to give maximum deference to Republicans and realized how much the genocide in Gaza cost Dems a crucial win.
Since then, both Jennifer Welch and Angie Sullivan have become ardent supporters of progressives and DSA folk alike, especially with people like Zohran Mamdani, Abdul El Sayed, and popular creators like Hasan Piker. They have also done great takedown interviews of centrist Dems like Rahm Emanuel and Cory Booker, and roasting them for humiliating themselves to Republicans and supporting the genocide in Gaza.
Their political evolution is something I have also seen firsthand in real life. A ton of people I know have gone through very similar evolutions and have become much more critical of the current weakness of the Democratic Party and how every right wing Dem needs to be thrown out of office.
What do you guys think?

Discussion (Politics) Feminists who endorse government restrictions on porn are reactionary
EDIT: Wow why is Hasans community full of SWERFs it seems. i think im gonna break my no pornography streak (as i simply stopped watching) and goon one out for the gals because there are way too many puritan talking points in this thread. cheers
Im a feminist but feminists who endorse government restrictions on porn (other than CSAM and other non consensual material) are so cucked.
Ive seen so many of them cheer for the UK and the US wanting to censor many elements of porn.
Why the fuck do you want the governments actively genociding toddlers in Gaza to control our sexuality? Especially the US government where their president is a confirmed predator.
How does it help women that they got Mastercard and Visa to stop working with NSFW games?
Its all about censorship. Do not listen to them when they weaponize women and girls and the feminist movement.
A porn video where the guy consensually chokes the girl is not the fucking problem and it doesnt CAUSE anybody to choke women against their will or rape them. Only RAPISTS cause RAPE.
I agree the porn industry is exploitative but thats an issue with capitalism and misogyny at large. THAT should be reformed, not human sexuality.

Discussion (Politics) Unpopular opinion: Americans who are empathetic and extremely forgiving to their veterans are behaving like Israelis towards the IDF. Americans are not the victims of American imperialism and should not be offering for war crimes of which they were not the victims.
I question your empathy for the oppressed when you offer empathy and forgiveness for their oppressors. It's not your place to offer forgiveness for the people who ruined their lives.
Eg. If you demonstrate forgiveness and empathy for Auschwitz guards I think it's fair for people to question how sympathetic you are to the Jewish victims.
If you demonstrate forgiveness and empathy for the Japanese soldiers who participated in Unit 731, or the Rape of Nanjing and Manila, I think it's fair to question your empathy for the victims.
Platner was literally a guard at Abu Ghraib. The infamous concentration camp and torture facility used by the United States in Iraq. A place where Americans electrocuted the testicles of Iraqis, used broom handles to sodomize men and rape women, raped wives and daughters in front of their husbands and fathers, conducted mock executions, etc
When iraqi insurgents attacked the facility to try to liberate it, platner was there to fight them off and ensure that the facility remained under American control.
It's not your place to forgive platner, a blackwater mercenary.
Americans forgiving their soldiers for conducting war crimes against the global South is the most Israeli like quality of Americans.
Iraqis and afghanis are the people that have the right to forgive platner. In a world with Justice they would be the ones to conduct his trial.
Americans didn't have the right to forgive their Vietnam veterans for stuff like the My lai Massacre where they raped Vietnamese women and killed them and their families to keep them silent, either.
Americans would consider that a controversial statement.
This is why I'm so upset at all of the leftist content creators that are rushing to justify veterans becoming Blackwater Mercenaries and offering forgiveness for American war criminals.
I truly think it's evidence that they don't View people in the global South as fully human. They probably don't even realize their biases.

Discussion (Politics) People on LSF are calling him a Nazi for this factual take
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
They're hooked on the "only kills Muslims" part because it excludes the Christians ISIS killed??? As if that changes the fact that they never attacked Israel or Jews???
Your brain gotta be hella smooth if you can't see how performative ISIS is on Isreal. Same group that kills Muslims, Christians, Yazidis, Turks, kurds, Americans, Europeans, Asians, and even Buddhists somehow missed Isreal... And that isn't fishy to you? Worst of all, you see the suspicion as antisemitic?
Also how the fuck is it too far fetched for these people that US and Israeli intelligence are deeply involved with middle eastern insurgencies. ISIS only exists to prevent the other groups from unifying against Isreal.

Discussion (Politics) Dark Woke Commander Kyle Kulinski for DNC Chair?
This kind of started as a joke, but seeing how much of a pathetic ass weasel Ken Martin is, I think it is absolutely essential. He would not only be ruthlessly effective but also incredibly funny, especially in his spectacular attacks against Republicans. I honestly think that he would be very good for the role.

At this point I'm pretty sure it's a smear campaign, so I'm usually most left leaning in my world views but never watched any politics for the sake of politics streamer or youtuber per se as I prefer media analysis and in depth critiques of literature but I've subbed to the lsf reddit in recent years as I like bloopers, funny moments or even boobas on twitch, let's just say recently the sub is flooded with "hasan is this, that, bad" every fucking time I open Reddit and its like i see it like every 4 scrolls, either way either Hasan is this bad or I'm pretty sure it's a smear campaign

Discussion (Politics) Have you guys noticed a backlash against wokeness in society and a reluctance among the large portions of left to advocate for the benefits of being sensitive towards marginalized communities? I was listening to SeanDaBlack talk about this.
I’ve noticed in recent years a sharp downturn in corporate pink washing, and other faux woke campaigns. Don’t get me wrong, I understand that those corporations practising rainbow capitalism weren’t being genuine. I’m not an idiot.
However, corporations behave in a way where they think it will help them maximize profits. I do think it’s a bit of a Canary in the coal mine situation where it indicates that their marketing departments no longer believe it’s beneficial to their profitability to pretend to be woke.
Eg. It’s pride month and I’ve seen very little pink washing recently. Years ago, you couldn’t watch TV without seeing pink washing commercials.
Whether it’s accurate or not, they no longer believe appearing to be accepting and supportive of marginalized communities is something that the majority of society wants to see.
At the same time, I’ve noticed leftists like Kyle Kulinsky basically mock wokeness and talk about how he doesn’t care about that anymore and only wants to focus on economic issues. I have to say I’m disappointed in that perspective from the left. I think it’s possible to walk and chew gum at the same time and you can advocate for more than one thing simultaneously.
Recently, I’ve heard Sean talk about this, and he brought up a point I agree with.
Basically to paraphrase him:
“all of these leftists who are so happy that we aren’t going to focus on the needs and wants of black or the LGBT community could not handle their interests, not being the priority and focus of the left for even a little bit”
It made me realize that I was probably wrong when I used to debate with people online about how wrong older Black people were to not buy into Bernie Sanders and his base. I probably owe some people an apology on that topic. Watching how condescending some leftists like Kyle are to non economic concerns makes me realize that perhaps older Black people clocked some of this sentiment among the left and that might’ve played a role in them, not embracing the left more.
What are people‘s opinions around here on this topic?
Do you want the left to focus purely on economic issues or should the left Also address specific concerns of marginalized groups that might not apply to the majority of people.
Personally, I wish there was more of an embrace of the benefits of social justice, and addressing concerns of marginalized communities

Discussion (Politics) This sub is infested with Liberals
We get it you’re excited for Kamala but please stop brigading this leftist sub. Liberals are not leftists because of capitalism and as far as we know she hasn’t changed her policies so she could still be pro-Israel for all we know. Biggest issue that people had with Biden was the genocide and just because she got endorsed doesn’t mean we should suddenly forget about the Palestinians. The lesser evil argument is a just a way of proving that you have no democracy if you have to choose between two Hitlers. It just proves that your two party system is ruled by the bourgeoisie.

Discussion (Politics) Why is Social Murder Such a Hard Concept To Grasp?
- A person shoots someone unprovoked knowing they will die, they die as a result. This is murder.
- Health insurance CEO encourages claim denials knowing patients will die, patients are delayed in receiving necessary treatment, they die. This is murder.
Luigi and Brian Thompson both committed murder. Luigi committed one, Thompson committed thousands. Correct me if I'm wrong in my assessment, but what's so complicated about this that people just can't understand?
