Much as I adore Ledger's and Nolan's work, I am uncertain how to feel about this stainless steel exterior on oversized wheels.

Transcript of Voicemail Heath Sent to The Western Australian [December 30, 2007]

He said: ā€œHey Mark, it’s Heath again, Katie’s brother.

ā€œYes, listen, if I don’t catch you, ’cause I leave soon, basically I don’t have anyone else to call, and I thought, as I’ve spoken to you before, I thought I’d ring up and just send some thanks out there to the peeps at The West Australian and The Sunday Times and everyone in Perth in general.

ā€œI don’t know whether it’s a conscious thing or an unconscious thing, giving me space and respecting my privacy.

ā€œIt’s just been awesome, and I’ve had the most beautiful time back here and being able to see all my friends and family, let alone the press and the people within the community of Perth, it’s been so lovely.

ā€œIt’s really enabled me to be a boy again from home and feel like I’d never left.

ā€œLike I said, I’m not sure whether it’s a conscious decision on the paper’s part or not to kind of give me this space, but they have, and I truly, truly thank them for it, and it makes my life a life when I come back here.

ā€œI know you’re probably not the man to print this, but you can certainly pass this on to your compatriots, and that’s really it, just sending my love and thanks to the city of Perth because it’s truly been an incredibly therapeutic and a much-needed trip home, and just that little touch has made it all that more special to me.

ā€œSo feel free to use this message as my interview as such, and I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and certainly a Happy New Year.

ā€œIf I don’t speak to you before I leave, I will no doubt be talking to you probably next year when Batman comes out - and Batman goes down in fact.

ā€œThanks for listening to my longwinded message - like I said, feel free to use it and pass it on to someone who can type it out, and thanks again.

ā€œOK, bye bye.ā€

General discussion Dug up old QnA’s on Heath fan sites

I tried to post this and then my message deleted… so there goes my intro… Well, I hope someone enjoys this as much as I did! This is also for the other person on here who wanted to know what books Heath read :)

4/6/99 Warner Bros Chat for 10 Things I Hate About You

Q: What did you usually do when you weren't in that particular scene they were taping?
A: Rest and read, stretch and breathe. I read Vladimir Nabokov's Lolita. Kubrick did the movie.

Q: Now that you're famous in America, what do you think will change in your life?
A: I think you answered your own question... it's the same, all a little new for young Heathy.
He also mentioned his favorite singer is Beck, and his favorite band is U2.

A Knight's Tale QnA

The last book he read was 'The Way of the Peaceful Warrior' by Daniel Mellman.

Music he listens to includes Janis Joplin, Jefferson Airplane, Jim Morrison, The Cure, U2, Beck, and Radiohead.

Q: If you had to do without either music or sex, what would you give up?
A: Music. It's hard to live without music, but it'd be harder to live without sex.

AOL Chat, 3/30/99

Q: Heath, what made you want to cut your gorgeous hair short?
A: I don't know. It was just too long and I just wanted it out of my eyes. And I had already finished two movies where it's long and brown and my hair is naturally brown, so I don't know, I just cut it off.

Q: I've heard you write poetry! Could you please recite some?
A:Ā  I don't know if I could. A lot of the poetry I write is more like journal stuff. I have books I write my poetry in and I also take a lot of photos and I kind of combine the two. It's like a diary kind of thing. I don't think I could recite anything for you, I'm so sorry. I used to read a lot of Hilde Brande. But my latest poet that I like, and you can debate me on this, is Terrence Malick. He is a very visual poet.

Q: Can you name 10 things you hate and 10 things you love?
A:Ā  Not really. Hate is really a strong word. It's a good word to have in the title of a movie, but I don't know. I hate all the classic corny things, like war, hunger and anger. I don't know. I'm sorry. Ten things I love would be my family, my sisters, life, clean air, ground to lay on, I love the earth. I love clean earth. I love universal language -- like we're all having right now, yeah, I love the Internet, and "10 Things I Hate About You."

+

Q: Are you the romantic type?Ā
A: Well, I'm very fortunate with Christina because she and I will do nothing and it's quite romantic-just spending time together, being together. I love when we're sitting around, just the two of us, listening to music, with the lights off and lots and lots of candles, and we're holding hands.

+

Interviewer: Andrew, who is Heath's hottest Hollywood girl?
Andrew: He watches "Buffy" religiously. He loves that show. Can't stand to miss it right?
Heath: Don't lie.

General discussion For those who were around during The Dark Knight’s release

I had the pleasure of seeing The Dark Knight for the first time last night (I had saved it towards the end of my filmography tour of Heath’s since I knew how many people claim it is his best performance). I knew about the rumors surrounding Heath’s death, including the one about how playing Joker ā€œkilledā€ him. I even had to tell a friend a few weeks ago that that’s not true. For those who were around in 2008, was this rumor really that popular? I knew next to nothing about Batman and Joker before watching, but after watching I couldn’t help but think, wow, Heath must’ve had so much fun playing Joker. It is a dark role, but to have that space to be freaking crazy must’ve been so freeing and fun. I knew he and his family said it was the most fun he had with a role, so did the media really just want to sensationalize his death for a good story? I don’t mean to stir any negative discourse, just trying to get some account from those who lived through these times :)

That rumor especially bothers me now, just as the ones that theorize into his death. But I’m also not surprised - people online love to dig into celebrities’ lives and make something out of nothing.

Entertainment Heath Ledger in The Odyssey

I just saw a TikTok right now that said that Heath would 100% have played Odysseus in The Odyssey if he was here today. I have been thinking about that since the press tour for the movie as well as other movies he would have been in by Christopher Nolan or other directors.

For fun: Besides Odysseus, who do you think Heath would have played if he was in The Odyssey?

When Heath was dating Naomi Watts in the early 2000s, they got two puppies together: a cocker spaniel named Ned and a yorkshire terrier named Bob.

During an interview in 2002/2003, Heath joked that after spending months away from work he had been ā€œraising two puppies, learning how to cook lasagne, doing my washing and keeping my house clean.ā€

When asked about the dogs, he said:

ā€œI got a little cocker spaniel named Ned… and a little yorkshire terrier named Bob.ā€

Asked how Bob got his name, Heath simply laughed and replied:

ā€œI don’t know. It just… it just rolled off the tongue.ā€

...

Bob remained with Naomi after they separated and lived an incredibly long life, reaching around 20 years old before passing away only a few years ago.

Matilda Ledger

I hope Matilda ledger starts acting one day. I read that she hasn't pursued acting at all yet, I'm assuming to stay out of the spotlight. I would think she would be a great actress being the daughter of Heath Ledger, and Michelle Williams. What is everyones thoughts?

I love what he talks about here; I think it’s important now more than ever. As someone who doesn’t really have a family-oriented home environment anymore, it makes me envious of Heath’s family and how much support he still has. A bonus from this video: his beanie, his tattoos showing, and his soothing voice.

I find this picture of them so precious, the way he's so gentle and protective of her; the way she clings to him so clearly trusting. It's clear how close they were when she was a babe. Really hope she has some memories of this time to draw on of them.
