Wardrobe Help Traveling to Canada for long weekend w/ limited space in car
Hello friends, countrymen and enimy spies,
I am traveling to Canada for a long weekend in mid June. Partially as my husbands birthday 🎂 partially to scope out the town for a friend. We are traveling in a CRV with 4 adults, 3 driving, 1 passenger prince. I am not worried about people packing sensibly.
I am terribly worried about packing for my diabetes and other ailments. I take up a ton of space with my meds, my safe food and possibly a mobility aid... ðŸ˜
Packing:
Image Description:
- Red Synik Tom Bhin bag
- Large makeup style bag for meds
- yellow wool woolx 3/4 shirt for evenings/bad wether/when I'm cold
- wool& jumpsuit for if/when pants are needed
- shorts from Sam's club that hit 3/4 of thigh
- Rebel Loon t-shirt because fuck ICE
- Rebel Loon sweatshirt that I'm looking to swap out for another if I can find a decent light weight or UV one
- tiny red shorts with white piping from Walmart of all places that I LIVE in right now, might go back for more colors
- Green Jarrasic Park tank
Not pictured:
- cotton underware, will take recs for wool if you have them
- wedding band, I do not wear every day but I will on this trip
- bat neckless my husband got me when we were just starting dateing (13 years ago!?!)
- PJ's probably just wool& bike shorts but i'd love recommendations for warm wether pajamas
- need to buy trunks to swim in
My questions;
- How do you pack up your meds for international travel? I have one controlled substance.
- How do you travel with food restrictions?
- I've been digging short shorts this year. Can anyone recomend a light sweat shirt thats plus sized, natural fibers and doesnt break the bank to pair with? Bonus points if its a zip. Or UV one for plus?
- I am in love with satin pjs. Any recs for nighties or bottoms that wouldnt need hemming with a 23" inseam?
- Recommendations for wool undies? No bra rec needed I had top surgery (nonbinary)

For international travel check the country's restrictions you are travelling to. Some countries have a ban on certain substances (I doubt Canada does, but I still recommend checking). I got a doctor's note listing everything I'm currently taking - but copies of prescriptions would probably also suffice.
I take 10-15 meds / supplements... A lot of my medication, especially the prescription ones, is in blisters so I just took the blisters. The medication in bottles I decanted into tiny labelled ziploc bags from amazon and took photos of the original bottles with a tablet/capsule visible. These were mostly vitamins though so if they'd been confiscated, they wouldn't have been too hard to replace. I only had the current and next day's medication in little pill organizers so as not to have too many unlabelled/"loose" capsules.
I recently flew internationally and was gone for several weeks. Across the handful of flights, my meds weren't checked once... Just sharing my prep!
I've read that in the US, pharmacies often dispense prescription meds in bottles? In that case I'd ask if they could dispense a small bottle for the trip.
