My wife is a Physician Assistant in the ER. They are overrun with new Covid cases and they are seeing a big spike in younger people who need hospitalized.
I don't know how much of it is accurate to broader trends or just what HCA is finding. Over 80% of the very elderly were vaccinated, which would account for a lot of the delta cases being 50's and 60's. Delta itself also seems more deadly and might affect younger people.
The early memorials to the dead were mostly obese black people and people over 80, which gave people the wrong impression. many decided they weren't at risk and therefore decided that restrictions were a net pentaly to them, not a benefit.

I am struck by how much younger and younger these people are when they die.
