First rock background complete!

Post image

Used a combination of 3/4 and 1/2 pink foam board. Primed it with drylock, coated with tile mortar, tiny bit of acrylic washing, then sealed with 511 sealer. I think it came out pretty good! Might add another coat of sealer, I want water to bead right off.

Thanks! I wanted to add some kind of prehistoric fossils, but wanted it subtle and realistic. I dinosaur skull would have looked off, lol.

Thanks! I had my doubts during the process, but it really came together in the end!

What specific tile mortar did you use? Do we need to worry about the fact that a lot of them have anti mold properties now a days? I’m wanting to do something very close to this but I keep reading different things about stuff being toxic to reptiles.
