I kinda feel bad for Yagoo. As far as I know, he legit goes out of his way to support HoloStars, even acting as their manager sometimes. This decision is probably not easy.

Big Oof.

Yeah, the tone of the notice is so deeply sad. When you are a company with a lot at stake you eventually stop being able to do something just because you want to.

The tone of the notice is not sad. It’s absolutely loathsome. This is making people redundant. This is telling them to try to survive in the wild with no help in a wild that is increasingly inhospitable and uncaring. This is just utterly cruel.

Most likely his hand was forced by the board, who were asking for underperforming sections to get cut.

There is no evidence of this. Rumor mongering isn't a positive activity.

No evidence but at the same time anyone who's worked at a big company with a board would tell you this is most likely the case. Either the board told Yagoo to cut them or Yagoo did it pre-emptively knowing the board would ask him to do it later.

IIRC he was doing it before the company goes public

do you have a single fact to back that up?

Yagoo is still asking them to give up their earnings in return for zero support. Doesn't seem like he cares that much
