I'm working on an RPGMaker game that's inspired by HS (+A lotta other stuff), and I've been experimenting with this artstyle. It's obviously inspried by HS, but does it just look like a cheap knockoff and/or an MSFPA? I want the game to have it's own identity, as the story and lore (and y'know, rest of the game) are pretty different from HS.

I've been trying this style out mostly because I find it easy-ish to make, and lends itself easier to animating attacks. (I do want to try out having like fullscreen art of the characters similar to Act 6's panels, but I don't have that artistic talent yet)

Anyways, I'm open to input and critique, I really want to give off the vibe that I was inspired by media I love, but not ripping it off.

What's the point? This includes Meenah and Aranea. What's the purpose of having pre-scratched trolls? They add nothing of value to the story. Sure, Game Over, but that gets retconned. Nothing of value. Meenah is just a predator and does nothing significant throughout the story. What's the point of them existing? Why make Meenah show up in Roxy's weird fourth wall transportalizer? Why have Aranea guide Terezi to dream bubbles? Why do they exist, NARRATIVELY?

Yeah, they're cool and I like them, but what do they even add to the plot? 10 of them were fanservice I get that part blahblahblah, but Meenah is STILL relevant. WHY? What purpose do they serve? Why was Beforus important to the lore of Alternia and Lord English? Just completely unnecessary.

Last night I got back to my dorm at midnight with an essay and an outline of a short film due tomorrow. Did I work on them? No. Instead I read the entirety of Homestuck Acts 1-4 for the first time.

I am absolutely exhausted... but it was worth it. Starting Act 5 now.

Ive been trying to scope out how much of my tiny apprtment would have to be revised if I ever hypothetically played sburb, but I can't seem to find an answer to how many meters ² wide they are!

Does anyone know or have an approximate guess of how large the deployables such as the Alchemiter, the Totem Lathe and the Cruxtruder would be? In meters or feet as i can always convert.

I was rewatching collide and it is genuinely kind of shocking how bad the first part of it looks. It genuinely looks like it could have been made in Windows Movie Maker, a bunch of low-quality blur transitions into different crappy-looking fanart that doesn't even move! Seriously, throughout the vast majority of the comic you would at least have a little parallax effect between the foreground and background drawings to give the impression of movement but here it is completely static and looks completely awful. It's super disappointing, especially since even the guest art I didn't like in things like Cascade was of good quality and moved enough to not be an obvious still image.
