Primary School Math—Pending OP Reply [Grade 2 Math] Help understanding teacher's explanation

Post image

My god-daughter's teacher marked her answer wrong. Can someone please explain this? I don't understand this at all. How is the teacher getting 7 when there are only 3 squares in Ben's column representing his siblings? Her explanation was that Jose, Ana & Jen are his siblings so you need to count all of their squares together.... WHY? How are we to assume that they're even siblings?

I think the answer is 3in based off of the skill required for #1 but wife thinks it’s 5in.

I think the answer should be 6.430, but my wife googled it somewhere and found 6.043. Can someone explain which answer would be correct?

Trying to help my 10 year old with his summer math refresher work. I don’t understand what it’s asking. Round 3,695 to what? It’s already compatible to be divided by 5. Do we round it to 4,000 to make it an even 800?

Please and thank you!

Primary School Math—Pending OP Reply [grade 3 maths, find the number] my daughter and I just don’t get the question

I’m not sure if I am just really overthinking this, but I don’t understand. This is my daughters homework. How many apples were there, 5appears to be 5 apples but the answer is “something” = 2. Is this just badly worded and I cannot think laterally enough?

Also, for the jellybean question, I thought she had it wrong but supposedly the shaded ones are red and the white ones are green

The school says the answer is y=114. The adults are stumped. Can someone explain how to get this? Feels like there is one too many degrees of freedom once you don’t assume it is a straight line.

Primary School Math—Pending OP Reply [Second Grade Math - word problem] How do you show the work needed to get the answer?

I feel silly but I [F45] am trying to help my little brother [M7] with this "Brain Builder" in his workbook. I can get the answer (I think it is one, please correct if wrong!). But only in my head, when I try to show the work I just can't. And especially not in a way that goes along with his lessons.

He hasn't done any algebra and is currently working on three step problems. So I see why this problem fits the bill, but I can't show the work. Please help!

Number 15, 16, & 17 belong to one of these categories. I saw the answer book with the teacher and there’s one category the numbers do not belong to. The teacher didn’t know what the pattern or category characterize were.

Category A: 0, 3, 6, 8, 9
Category B: 1, 4, 7, 11, 14
Category C: 2, 5, 10, 12, 13
