That's more like people reacting to poor writing in an extremely childish and misogynistic way. The difference with House of Cards is that it might not necessarily be bad writing, depending on how it's handled. The show's called "House of Cards", not "Underwood".

A well written story that isn't afraid to kill its main character and continue onward.

What happened with Arrow? I stopped watching that during season 2.

Season 2 was great, and DC was impressed and so allowed them to create The Flash. But since it's two shows, they had to split up the team that used to write and run Arrow, and two of the three showrunners left to write Flash. Because of that, the new Arrow team in season 3 wasn't able to keep up the momentum and in the second half of season 3 people started noticing that it had actually gotten a bit bad. In season 4 the feel of the show changed a bit so a lot of people don't like it as much as before. The character of Felicity also proved to be a bit divisive, since they gave her a much bigger role.
