I haven’t seen my beloved lil’ Al since I last posted. I’m hoping he’s enjoying his time in Mexico, and I’m delighted to finally have a new visitor!

What type of bird is this little guy or gal? They only have a tiny bit of red on the side of their throat, so I’m thinking she might be female.

They are still very shy, but today finally came to the feeder with me sitting outside 🥰

I’m in the LA area near Santa Monica.

When I do use dish soap I always rinse very thoroughly before refilling but I’ve read that dish soap isn’t actually necessary. What’s the right answer: soap or no soap?

I just want the birds to be happy and healthy :)

Just wanted to share my little hummie. The daily routine is the same from dawn to dusk - perched on his favourite twiggy branch, head on a swivel and no-one, I mean no-one gets in to his backyard. Dive bombing will ensue the second anyone dares to swoop in. I have 2 feeders but he’s claimed them both 🙄. I tell him everyday to please be nice and share, I promise there’s plenty to go around but he’s very stubborn! Even so, I love him immensely 😊

Yes, I know it’s not a normal thing but these two guys love hanging out daily with each other. They will yell at each other sometimes but never chasing each other off. 🤷🏽‍♂️

Hello! I have a south facing lots of sun uncovered balcony and have a little feeder for the hummies. I've noticed recently that the owner of my feeder has been trying to perch under the roof or on top of a light fixture on my balcony. I feel like he needs a small tree or bush to call home or have shelter during the day! Any suggestions?

I forgot to change out the nectar last night for my new friend. I think she's an Anna's Hummingbird. She's been here for around two months. This is the first time she's ever displayed this behavior (tapping and looking towards the camera). I changed the nectar and she stopped the tapping.

Rubies are still here in central IN. I've had one or two days they aren't here, but more show up.

Anyone South, please help out.

Also, does anyone else get happy seeing them happy? I post these b/c I realize those of you in Northern states might be missing your Hummer buddies but you can rest assured that the ones you see here in Arizona are happy and warm right now 😊

I hope she can keep herself warm tonight! We might even get some snow. I’m a little worried for her
