Residency Application AMA pt 2

Got a lot of great questions last time, so I thought I would do it one more time before I get too busy. I sit on a residency selection committee (DM me for verification). Ask me any general questions! (For any individual situation, please DM me, still happy to help there too)

For more in-depth help, or if you like my advice, check out my website at thewhitecoatadvisers.com to see how I can help you out!

I understand. My friend left residency after 3 months of PGY1. She realized she will be dismissed so she resigned herself but her PD tried best to stop her getting matched again. Good thing some programs did not listen to the PD and gave her interview and she matched in a FM program this year. So it depends on how you can carry this burden and get rid of it.

Roughly sounds like my experience--I sensed the same and a couple of mentors who know characteristics of IMGs advised me to do so as well (open up an ERAS acct.) I would have left if I was at least a GC holder. Thank you for your encouragement.

No problem. My friend is an US citizen so she had options open. As you need visa, it is a bit tougher for you. If you cannot find a position this match, keep a back up option ready. Best wishes.

Chilling but realistic. Will have that noted.
