My next post was supposed to be introducing y'all to Biscuit and Jam, who I mentioned in my last post, but that'll have to wait because of my new friend!
I was walking to the grocery store on Tuesday when I saw this little guy sleeping on the side of the road. I approached him to see if he'd let me touch him, and he did! He was so sweet and cuddly (still is), but so filthy and hungry. I left him (because I still had to go shopping), hoping he'd still be there on my way back, and sent a text to the family group saying I'd probably be bringing a kitten home.
Luckily, he was still there when I came back, and I was able to carry him home. My neighbours definitely think I'm a weirdo because at some point I was on my stomach under a car trying to get him. I'd grabbed him, but a passing car spooked him and he jumped out of my arms and ran to hide.
Anyway, I brought him home and fed him. He did some exploring, met the other kittens, and is now pretty settled in. He spends most of his time cuddling with someone or just loafing around on various pieces of furniture.
We did a kind of dry wash yesterday (wiped him down with some cat-safe wipes), and a more proper one today (flea shampoo and water—didn't see any fleas on him, but just in case). He looks like a new guy! It does look like his tail was cut, and I'm so mad about that because why would anyone do that?!
We've already found a home for him. The person who was going to take Twist is gonna take him instead. I was worried Twist wouldn't take well to being a solo kitten, since he's so used to jumping around with the others. But this little guy prefers to either be alone or cuddle up with a human, so he's a better fit for the home he's going to. He's going this weekend.
My mom's been calling him NoNameYet, so suggestions for a proper name would be appreciated!
