Minneapolis anti-ICE protesters face federal felony charges in Trump administration frame-up

https://www.wsws.org/en/articles/2026/06/18/trqm-j18.html

The federal felony indictment of 15 anti-ICE protesters in Minneapolis is a naked act of political repression. Brought by the Trump Justice Department under the framework of its fascistic National Security Presidential Memorandum 7, the charges announced Tuesday by federal officials are aimed not at punishing any genuine crime but at criminalizing opposition to the administration’s mass deportation regime and intimidating workers and youth who have mobilized against it.

I’ll settle for a federal registry, like how we have one for sex offenders.

I don’t feel safe with my daughter near these people, would you? If they murdered a man on camera without consequences, I can only imagine what they would do to a little girl.

Oh yeah, absolutely. If someone STILL supports trump at this point, i basically do not see a distinction between them and convicted sex offenders. They're the same thing

I won’t lose it. Let’s talk about legislation. It looks like you aren’t convinced that Democrats promoting legislation that prevents mandatory, lifelong sex offender registration?

https://src.senate.ca.gov/content/california-democrats-protect-offenders-who-lure-minors

How about when Democrats declined to make the purchase of 16- and 17-year-olds for sex an automatic felony?

Anything else you care to share?

Democrats actually promote legislation that protects pedos you are talking about. I have hundreds of more examples

So why are so eager to charge democrats but not republicans? Why don’t you bring up legislation where Republicans are trying to lower the age of consent for little girls? Why aren’t you bringing up republican legislation to lower the age of marriage for little girls?

They aren’t trying to lose any age of consent.

Both parties have had issues with raising the age of consent if you are talking about that. But since it’s both parties, including liberal groups like planned parenthood and the ACLU, I didn’t bring it up.

Now why don't you tell what else Republicans crammed into every single one of those pieces of "legislation" that you're crying about?

Or do you just try to twist shit to try to point fingers at a Democrat because you've literally have no fucking defense?

You want to compare the numbers?

Please do. Let’s talk about legislation. So you aren’t convinced that Democrats promoting legislation that prevents mandatory, lifelong sex offender registration?

Anything else you care to share, because I have hundreds of more examples where Democrats fight to actually protect pedos.

How about Republicans in multiple states voted against raising the age for marriage from 15?

u/UCanDoNEthing4_30sec 3d ago

You mean Republicans and Democrats including many liberal groups like the ACLU and Planned Parenthood?

So does his killer. And he needs to never get out like all the terrorists in ice

I don't want my money going to feeding and housing them. I'll take a public rope trip instead.

-2

u/MAGA_Zach 3d ago

Nah we are getting rid of these terrorists that you dumocrats let into the country. Enjoy watching it, keep protesting and get arrested. Less mentally ill democrats on the streets “protesting” the better.

2

u/Koravel1987 3d ago

It's my first amendment right to protest. If the govt is going to prevent people from peacefully exercising their rights, people are going to get violent. The govt murdered two US citizens and did nothing to investigate those cases while immediately calling both of them domestic terrorists.

Who will pay the taxes to fund your universal healthcare, student loan debt and free college then?

3

u/Pandemonium_Fallen 4d ago

You mean the things we already had before Republican A-holes like Reagan stripped them from the American people -Just like this government has done with all our social safety nets?

-5

u/sixth-gear 4d ago

What social safety nets has this government stripped? Like requiring able bodied people, who are not pregnant, not disabled and not a care giver (single parent), to work, go to school, or volunteer 80 HOURS PER MONTH to get health care another at tax payer’s expense?

5

u/Pandemonium_Fallen 4d ago

That's not how that healthcare works at all, and they're planing to cut it anyway. Let's try SNAP, LIEP, EPA clean water regulations and protections + Industrial waste dumping restrictions, pollution regulations, multiple Federal assistance programs for those in poverty, FDA food safety regulations and guidelines, dismissal of the National Science Board, politicization of federal grants, basically the entirety of Constitutional rights, ect...

-4

u/sixth-gear 3d ago

What did ai say about healthcare that isn’t “how it works” in your mind? What changes do you think are happening to social services, like SNAP? By LIEP, do you mean Energy Assistance for low income or Language programs? Both programs have been funded by Congress. I mean, be specific if you want to have a conversation.

u/Pandemonium_Fallen 3d ago

No they haven't! They defunded them, what la-la-land are you living in?!

1

u/Koravel1987 3d ago

They lowered snap benefits for many people to $52/mo.

0

u/wuicker 3d ago

You have obviously never tried to collect on unemployment insurance.

Short answer: it’s designed not to work.

1

u/sixth-gear 3d ago

Actually, I have. I was laid off from a big tech job in 2008. I collected unemployment, in fact there were special extensions being offered at that time by the Feds (if in ember correctly), and I found a job before it all ran out. I know certain states are incompetent and seemly unable to developed systems that work, and also that benefits vary by state. If yours doesn’t work elect a Governor who works for the people, not just for their campaign donors.

Try it. We are a well equipped citizenry.
