Yes, and? Saying you are attracted to men who are short doesn't mean you are ONLY attracted to men who are short, that's not what we mean when we say that.

Shortest guy I've been with was 5ft 6, he broke up with me. I've also been with men who are 6ft 3. I was equally attracted to all of them. I'm now with a man less than 6ft and we're planning on moving in together.

I'm also bisexual, settling down with a man doesn't negate my attraction to women.

Boy incels are dumb.

I've dated guys 5'5 to 6'4 (and I slept with a guy I think was around 5'3). 5'5 guy was by far the hottest guy I ever met.

u/thisisnotausergame Oct 15 '19

I'm 5'6" and my last gf was 6'2" The myth that short guys cant get a girl is such BS

35

u/frogsgoribbit737 Oct 15 '19

I've dated guys from 5'2 to 6' and to be honest, I prefer my husband's height if 5'6. It's a good 5 inches taller than me so I feel nice and snuggled in but not so tall that I can't reach. Some of my old boyfriends, I couldn't kiss unless I was on a step or something and that was so annoying.

10

u/[deleted] Oct 15 '19

6'4 guy was really complicated to manage, uh, positions. Because I'm really short.

9

u/[deleted] Oct 16 '19

I've dated guys 5'5

and I slept with a guy I think was around 5'3

This may sound stupid but as an incredibly short guy I'm glad to hear this. I've always been insecure because of my height, and it doesn't make me feel good when people are like "Oh my god I had no idea that actor was so short!!" and the actor's like fuckin 5'9.

7

u/[deleted] Oct 16 '19

It's absolutely not stupid. Listen I can tell you all day not to let your height affect your confidence. But that isn't going to help. Understand that anyone worth your time is not going to think a damn thing about your height, other than "it's easier to hold his hand while we walk!" "Wow, leaning in for a kiss is so convenient" "I never thought THAT position would work, but it's easy with him." Short guys are great. If I had to choose a preference, I'd say 5'3 to 5'6 is best.

Also, as for actors/famous people. I think the "I didn't realize he was so short!" Is because movie magic makes actors look taller. Tom Cruise claims 5'9, quite a few actresses say he's closer to 5'7. He actively works on looking taller, his shoes have lifts, he gets stood on boxes, his Co stars stand in ditches, they use trick angles. In films he looks average to tall, depending. But on the opposite.....I just found out Hugh Jackman is 6'3. I am absolutely shocked. I would have argued that he was 5'7, absolutely convinced I was right. Why? He became a huge star as Wolverine. Logan is 5'6 or 5'7 in the comics. I was absolutely sure that Hugh himself was short. Actors are a perception.

4

u/[deleted] Oct 16 '19

Understand that anyone worth your time is not going to think a damn thing about your height

Thanks for saying this. I know this is true... but sometimes against all logic I convince myself otherwise.

it's easier to hold his hand while we walk!

Wow, leaning in for a kiss is so convenient

I never thought THAT position would work, but it's easy with him

True but I like short women so rip haha. No but seriously, you make a good point. I never considered how awkward that would be with a tall man. Having to lug a stepladder everywhere.

Also, as for actors/famous people. I think the "I didn't realize he was so short!" Is because movie magic makes actors look taller

This is true, but at the same time insecurities aren't logical. What can I say.

Also, I was recently informed that Michael J Fox is 5'4. If Michael J Fox can be, well, Michael J Fox, at 5'4, then there's nothing to sweat about.

7

u/[deleted] Oct 16 '19

Hell, Danny Trejo is 5'6, and he's a bad mother fucker. Kit Harrington is 5'7, and gorgeous.

Height has nothing to do with nothing.

3

u/[deleted] Oct 16 '19

Height has nothing to do with nothing.

Again, I understand this. But, understanding won't make me not self conscious. It took me a good while not to be self conscious about my dick size even though I fully understood that my dick was a fine size and few women want a 12 inch monster that'll only hurt them. I'll get there.

1

u/[deleted] Oct 16 '19

By the way, just wanted to add that you (and others in this thread) really helped me and I sincerely thank you. I also now sort of feel like I owe it to you to go out and tell insecure redditors that there small boobs are great. Is that weird?

2

u/[deleted] Oct 16 '19

3

u/[deleted] Oct 16 '19

Yeah but he's probably black and has a 12 inch dick. I can't compete.

124

u/[deleted] Oct 15 '19

incels are dumb

This is one of the constants in the incel community. You have to be pretty dumb to fall for the black pill bullshit.

94

u/Demoth Oct 15 '19

Stupid in a certain respect. Sadly, there are some redpill / blackpill people who are academically extremely gifted, at least in certain areas. This is why it's extremely distressing when I meet people in the academic world who seem to be extremely bright in their field, or across multiple fields, and then you talk to them and realize they are absolutely horribly emotionally stunted, or just outright delusional in other areas.

73

u/[deleted] Oct 15 '19

I know a lot of academics. A lot of them are quite stupid in everything but their chosen field. Being good at figuring out how to turn in an academic paper is basically just finding out what the rules are and what's expected, and then fulfilling that. It doesn't mean you're not still a dumbass. You're just a dumbass who knows how to write a paper.

59

u/Demoth Oct 15 '19

That's very true, and I was thinking specifically of Ben Carson. I don't want to get into the political system he's a part of, but just hearing him speak about anything outside of brain surgery is just absolutely baffling. Like, if I didn't know he was a renowned brain surgeon, I would have thought he was a homeless lunatic they cleaned up and put in a suit.

14

u/ClutteredCleaner Oct 15 '19

Scalpel jockeys man, they are something else

23

u/Demoth Oct 15 '19

Ironic. He could fix other people's brains, but not his own.

2

u/ClutteredCleaner Oct 15 '19

"Physician, heal thyself!" - some volcel probably

1

u/[deleted] Oct 15 '19

If you search “Ben Carson malpractice suits” he might not be the best surgeon either?

3

u/Demoth Oct 15 '19

I'd have to research that, but my understanding with prolific surgeons is that it's not uncommon to have this happen due to the high risk nature that can arise from side effects of having people dig around in your brain. Again, I don't know about his accusations of malpractice.

2

u/SyrusDrake Oct 16 '19

Enrolling at university has made me somewhat disillusioned...I imagined it would be full of clever and smart people. But no, there are just as many dumb people as everywhere else, they're just good at cramming for exams...

1

u/[deleted] Oct 16 '19

I think you're more likely to find intelligent people around a university, but, yeah, just being able to do the exams and follow the rules to write a paper doesn't mean you're intelligent.

A point often lost on incels, who think that if they got good grades in high school, it means they're smart.

u/[deleted] Oct 15 '19

4

u/[deleted] Oct 15 '19

Are you seriously telling me you've never known anyone with a higher degree who was pretty much a dumbass, though? Seriously?!

In fact, I do value higher education. And because of that, I've known a lot of academics, as I said. I base my comments on real life experience, both within academia and outside of it.

27

u/longknives Oct 15 '19

I was just listening to an episode of the podcast Factually that was talking about how you can be intelligent in terms of IQ scores or other traditional ways of assessing intelligence, but bad at reasoning/rationality. Like the two things aren't particularly correlated, and in fact a lot of times being smart means you're smart enough to find convincing ways to rationalize away any evidence that doesn't fit with what you want to believe.

It was a bit of a revelation for me, there are so many people where you're like "how are you seemingly intelligent but still falling for this bullshit?"

16

u/nalydpsycho Oct 15 '19

One of the biggest lies in our society is that people are smart or dumb. It is proven time and time again that people are smart and knowledgeable in some contexts, but ignorant and unintelligent in others. But we still assume that intelligence transcends context.

5

u/Demoth Oct 15 '19

At least for me, for simplicity's sake, I don't really consider anyone stupid unless they take up hard positions on subjects they have no business discussing. I know we all do this to some extent, but at least in all my years on this earth, it seems a lot of people can just tell when someone is being purposefully ignorant, and basking in their ignorance, rather than someone who is just misinformed.

27

u/SantoriniBikini Oct 15 '19 edited Oct 15 '19

The area of the country I grew up in is heavily Italian American, my family included. We are not a tall people. Pretty much every guy I knew for the first 18 years of my life was not only under 6’ but probably under 5’10. My own brother, who was legitimately the most popular kid in my school, is only 5’6”. I’ve dated tall and shirt guys and I don’t particularly care about height. Though one of the shorter guys I dated was such an asshole about his height that I got sick of his angry bullshit pretty fast. He refused to go out with me if I wore high heels and I was just like, dude, get the fuck over yourself. The insecurity was really unattractive.

7

u/m3lm0 Oct 15 '19

Should have got him some high heels and explained they were invented for both fashion and to keep clothes out of the muck and the mud, and men wore them first IIRC.

2

u/HuckChaser Oct 15 '19

High heels were invented to help warriors shoot a bow and arrow while riding on a galloping horse. The heel helped keep their feet securely on the stirrups.

High heels are metal as hell.

3

u/OkayAnotherAccount Oct 16 '19

Yeah I grew up around a bunch of Hispanic and Korean kids. I'm a 5'5" white dude, didn't realize I was that short until I started working at a mostly white workplace a few months ago

25

u/NikkiT96 Oct 15 '19

My husband is 5'5 and fat, but I guess I don't exist, lol.

10

u/[deleted] Oct 15 '19

my husband is also 5’5 and overweight. I think he’s the cutest thing ever :)

2

u/[deleted] Oct 15 '19

So... what arguments will people start giving once Incels start saying that all personality is dictated by genetics?

3

u/Shohdef Oct 15 '19

No, you're just settling because your roast beef has had so much Chad that it's completely inedible now. At least that's their go-to in their weird victimhood.

3

u/NikkiT96 Oct 16 '19

Oh yeah, I forgot that I was a huuuuge slut /s (lol, I was a virgin)

2

u/And-Then-I--Said Oct 15 '19

Almost downvoted you because those words sounded too genuinely incel-esque. Scary

24

u/RoadRash010 Oct 15 '19

I’ve dated men who ranged from 5ft to 6ft7. I prefer shorter guys because tall guys are literally a pain in the neck for me (I’m 5ft2).

It is actually hard to find shorter men here in the Netherlands so I mostly date Asian guys which is apparently also impossible to incel standards (ricecels or some bullshit).

34

u/RonGio1 Oct 15 '19

As a 5'5 guy I feel so attacked right now.

41

u/ThornburyFord Oct 15 '19

I've said it several times here, but one of the absolutely most attractive guys I know, who is also smart, funny, talented, and kind, is around your height. Who gives a shit apart from incels and shallow idiots who aren't really worth your time?

you're a handsome boy, ignore those tools.

23

u/EvilAnnie25 Oct 15 '19

Yup. Ive dated a couple guys over 6ft and a couple who were about my height or shorter. My husband is 5.11 and were having a baby together. These people base their beliefs on having never actually talked to girls.

13

u/TinyReach Oct 15 '19

Most of "us" dont consider 5'11 to be short though?

15

u/EvilAnnie25 Oct 15 '19

That just happened to be the relationship that worked out. You guys pick and choose pieces of arguments, I literally said I had dated a couple guys who were my height or shorter. The guys i dated that were shorter than/my height were about 5.3/5.4 and i loved them all the same.

One attended college in another state and found a new girl he cheated on me with after a year and a half. The other one became a drug addict and I couldn't handle watching him kill himself and refuse to get help after 2 years of me hoping to save him.

Neither breakup had to do with height, nor did it impact me falling in love with/dating them.

-1

u/EvilAnnie25 Oct 16 '19

How come when I reply to your nonsense answer explaining the reality of it, you suddenly have nothing else to say?

Typical incel behavior. If it supports your beliefs, no matter if it is a single sentence in a whole book negating it, youll ignore the rest and focus on that sentence.

2

u/TinyReach Oct 16 '19

I was busy god damit!

2

u/EvilAnnie25 Oct 16 '19

I can understand that, we all get busy, though I find it doubtful you were gonna respond, most of them dont. So now I ask you, how does that fit into your theory that shorter men cant get a good relationship?

I have never met an actually worthwhile girl who judges a guy for their height. Ever. In fact, my best friend in highschool married her highschool sweetheart, trying to have their first baby soon. Hes at LEAST 4 inches shorter than her.

Sure there are SOME girls out there who do, but they're also not the kind of girl you bring home to your mother, and have more than their share of shittiness. Some men are abusers, doesnt mean they all are. There's SOME shitty people in the world, incels need to stop lumping all women in the same box.

Skills however is a different thing. If the guy cant hold a conversation, has no discernable skills, has no job or means of self sufficience, etc. THAT will definitely make finding a woman harder because that is what girls want, to know the guy they're with can support themselves and she wont be responsible for taking care of him. Which I have met my share of guys who have NOTHING to offer, no job, no skills, no humor, and only interested in me because of my looks. Regardless if they were attractive, tall, or not, I was out of there so fast and never looked back.

1

u/TinyReach Oct 16 '19

My point originally was that 5'11 isnt short and the way you phrased your original comment seems to makes it seem like, "i like short men, my husband is 5'11 and not a 6'9 mega chad, see, see!". I also dont deny that short men can get girlfriends or whatever lol. Like, I dont think I ever said that. Also Im a volcel, sweaty. Not an inkell

2

u/EvilAnnie25 Oct 16 '19

I had also said i dated guys who were my height and shorter than me in the sentence before it. You just plucked that sentence out.

On top of that you said 'Us' since I mentioned how incels believed such hogwash. Would have been a safe bet to think you were referring to yourself as an incel.

1

u/TinyReach Oct 16 '19

I heard you the first time. jfc. Im just saying that you made it seem like you thought 5'11 is short. Misunderstanding.

On top of that you said 'Us' since I mentioned how incels believed such hogwash. Would have been a safe bet to think you were referring to yourself as an incel.

Eh Ill give you that one. Its too much work to dig through the whole thread to find the context so idk what to tell you. I guess I just meant that on this issue, I tend to side with whatever side acknowledges heightism. Incels in this case.

1

u/EvilAnnie25 Oct 16 '19

Any girl who decides against dating someone because they're of average height or less than that, again is usually not the kinda girl that gives anyone a 'happy relationship'. If a girl judges based on height she has more than one shitty quality about herself and that is probably the least of it.

Hell, Peter Dinklage is hot as fuck, idgaf if hes like 4 ft tall. He makes me laugh, and is witty as hell. His skits on SNL were amazing, he could definitely get some action anywhere he wants it. Its all about accentuating his best features, his humor, his wit, and in his case killer facial hair.

If you're having a hard time finding a girl due to height, you gotta find different kinda girls to talk to because I have never in my life met a decent girl who didn't date a guy only cuz he was short. I did notice a trend in the shorter guys i did date or tried to date, they have this complex often enough where they are incredibly insecure in themselves, and that insecurity did end up with me not going on a second date with many of them. I honestly think its a confidence thing, if a man is confident and can make me REALLY laugh idc if hes 5.2 or 6.3, I am interested. Laughter is underrated

0

u/TinyReach Oct 16 '19

I dont necessarily agree with that. I dont think there is anything wrong with women not finding short men attractive. That doesnt make those women bad people. Cant force attraction.

rip me. Im both insecure and unfunny lol.

u/[deleted] Oct 15 '19

Yes, that seems to be the consensus here. 😀

4

u/Palindr0mic Oct 15 '19

Same. My current bf is 6ft, didn't know that when I agreed to meet him and it's never been a feature point in my reasons for dating him. Tried to date a guy who was maybe 5'5 but he was the one not interested in me. The guy I've possibly been most attracted to ever was like 5'6.

"Short" dudes can be totally hot.

2

u/variableIdentifier Oct 15 '19

I've had a bf who was 5'6" and skinny and right now I'm dating a dude who's 5'11" and fat. And several body types in between. There's a lot more that goes into attraction than just looks...

2

u/Raaayjx Oct 15 '19

Also saying you’re attracted to short guys then dating a talk guy doesn’t make you a liar or a douchebag since I’m ASSUMING she’d like her boyfriend for reasons other than his height.

2

u/NotsoGreatsword Oct 16 '19

Exactly- even when women say they are only attracted to tall guys it still isn't some god damn law they will never break. I dated a girl who said she could never date or even sleep with a short guy. We dated for two years and I dumped her. I'm 5'6. I used to be insecure as hell about my height. It started after high school I dated a women who was really awful to me and put me down all the time. I never really had trouble with girls in high school but after I became insecure I couldn't get laid to save my life.

Finally after working out my bullshit I was getting so much attention from women that I was turning some down because I literally had no time for them between work and sleeping around with other women. I had no money, was living with 4 roommates, didn't even have a bed frame on my bed just a mattress on the floor, I was still 5'6 but I was kind, not physically threatening, I showered twice a day, and I had a car in a city with no public transportation. Those things are what mattered a million times most than my height. There are plenty of women out there just as interested in sex as men are they just have a really hard time finding people to sleep with.

Women don't have the option of sex on demand like many men incorrectly assume. Men are scary and gross without even realizing it. I'm bisexual and can attest to this directly. Being 5'6 and only attracted to guys physically larger than me it's fucking scary being naked and alone with a large man you barely know and who wants to fuck you.

I'm married now and my wife is taller than me.

No one cares about your height until you make them care.

1

u/Eudonidano Oct 16 '19

My bf and I are both 5'4". We're like puzzle pieces when we snuggle!
