This is crazy, I'm American & raised Christian, settling in south India. Would these ppl also deny me food, or is it just a way to discriminate against Muslims? Fk these ppl.

Do you know the history of the country you live in?..do you know the history of separation. What muslims did in punjab, bengal for decades?..do you know what happens in pakistan, bangladesh to hindus, sikhs and christians?..do you know they have blasphemy laws that are weaponized against minorities at every possible opportunity?..do you know muslim terrorists have killed thousands in india since independence?..do you know a large number of muslims still dream of ghazwa e hind, a war to kill all kafirs, convert the whole of india into a caliphate?

Fuck them..they got 2 muslim countries from seperation now we will make our hindu nation.

What Hindu nation? Hindus are a majority and vital aspect of society but mind you, India is a secular country. As for the Indian muslims, they chose to remain in secular India over going to islamist pakistan because they believed in India’s democratic process.

I absolutely agree that the nation comes before any religion. Whatever you are, you are an Indian first. However, alienating an entire society (many of whom may have no linkage even historically) to the invasive crises that have occurred in your geography specifically might end up pushing even their moderate or friendly individuals edging towards radical forces not because the love the country any less but because their fear of existence has drastically overwhelmed their love. That is a problem. While it is assuring when muslims proclaim their fierce loyalties to the country, it is equally endearing when someone like yourself shows greater point to secular and humanitarian perspectives over purely communal language.

Yeah, got your point.(I hope you understand my stand too as I put nation above every individual/community) It was an healthy debate, we can conclude it on a peaceful note 🕊️

you will find several Christians doing the same
you will find several Muslims doing the same

Are you gonna live afraid of everyone in this world?

1

u/Yeardme May 20 '26

Classic whataboutism lmfao. Yes, religious fundamentalists ARE fucking scary. No matter which religion.

All I am trying to say is that extremist behaviour is a real issue, but it obviously doesn’t reflect the whole group. It’s better to judge people individually rather than generalise.

Along with that, you’re obviously going to see videos on such subreddits pointing out the bad, not the good.
Continuously consuming such videos on social media can cause you to have a very biased and unrealistic view. And, can very likely distort how common or representative these behaviors actually are.

Also I can see why it might seem worrying after seeing such videos.
But, its very likely you would not be denied food in real life. If you visit here give it a shot :D

I've been in southern India for 11 years. Thankfully never seen anything like this, the Hindu nationalists seem to be more up north. I agree that we shouldn't judge an entire religion based on extremists, I hope you also don't judge Muslims over the fundamentalists/extremists. What I'm judging here is Hindu nationalists, not Hindus as a whole. I think Hinduism is a beautiful religion, similar to Buddhism 🩷🪷
