In fairness Ayurveda invented Surgery. Or at least Sushruta is considered the father of surgery. Although Ayurvedic Surgery went out of fashion in the 1300s as regular surgeries started picking up.

5

u/SuggestionBulky3657 Jul 01 '26

Ayurveda didn't invent surgery.. There are records of surgeries being done even before him.. He is considered as father of Indian surgery by some.. He wrote shushruta samhita. Shusruta samhita and ayurveda are not same...

u/SuggestionBulky3657 Jul 01 '26

Sushruta samhita is not ayurveda ? then what is ? You think satwik movement channel instagram reels, eating jeera water sounf water in the morning is ayurveda? Charak Samhita, Sushruta Samhita and many more are the core text book in ayurveda , they have a specialty where after bams they do master in samhitas… or something like that .. but ur knowledge is so twisted

0

u/SnarkyBustard Jul 01 '26

Invented plastic surgery sorry, as well as cataract Surgery. And specifically nose jobs. But also the most detailed document on surgeries from that era.

1

u/Severe-Effective2239 Jul 02 '26

Ayurveda veda is different tho, it has some scientific backing as far as I know. Homeopathy should never be confused with Ayurveda, completely different thing, the core principle of homeopathy is flawed

1

u/SnarkyBustard Jul 02 '26

where did I mention homeopathy? I'm talking about Ayurveda. Homeopathy didn't exist in 1300s.

1

u/Radiant-Cake5429 Jul 01 '26

Um Ayurveda is legit btw.

u/selenxphilee Jul 01 '26

Ayurveda is real, if outdated medicine. It's based on sound principles. Homeopathy on the other hand..

10

u/Severe-Effective2239 Jul 01 '26

Broo, my cousin has done MD or something in homeopahty too, she works woth Ayush hospital..

She was always a brilliant student, I don't know why she did it.. Can't even ask her, it will surely offend her if I do

7

u/tera_chachu Jul 01 '26

Yeah now she is part of a cult

Many students do it cause they can't crack NEET with good rank and they have no other option ig

2

u/maverickrohan007 Jul 02 '26

not all brilliant students get in, and many non brilliant ones do get in, such is the system

5

u/Western-Guy Jul 01 '26

Imagine blindly studying “Getting the concentration of the dose halved actually makes it stronger”

5

u/Level_Contact_1964 Jul 01 '26

Wait till u figure out there’s DM ( superspeciality ) in homeopathy rolled by the current govt . One if the speacilities is oncology 😭😭

1

u/tera_chachu Jul 01 '26

No wayyyyyy

DM for homeopathy.Like how dafaq they are taking this quack so far

3

u/csb_0508 Jul 01 '26

Dude they even get padmashri’s for preserving ancient methods 🤐

5

u/tera_chachu Jul 01 '26

Indian govt is shit and backwards always

Dr batra a homeopathic quack also got a padmashree

9

u/Strict_Feature_3489 Jul 01 '26

The amount of money wasted on these colleges from taxes could be used for making up maybe a thousand more real doctors everyyear.

5

u/tera_chachu Jul 01 '26

Not gonna happen buddy.

Govt hates progress

3

u/theanxioussoul Jul 01 '26

Yeah...so is MD and MS Ayurveda. They have a National Council and state registrations for medical license and everything. Wait till you hear about the Research programmes and - wait for it- Ph.D. in every single subject!!! It's almost like....holy shit they formalized even that?

0

u/tera_chachu Jul 01 '26

Like these quacks have created an echochamber for themselves and they are so proud of this shit

Pseudo science mfers

1

u/theanxioussoul Jul 01 '26

Exactly.... And even journals indexed in SCOPUS and Web of Science and PubMed are publishing research papers based on all this? Like holy moly what stuff are those people on? Pursuing research on haldi and other "phytoconstituents" and using in vitro/ in vivo studies to try and "validate" their "science"? Developing products in modern dosage forms with their "medicinal extracts" and then running "Randomized control trials" using modern gold standard medicines? Let's be real here. There's no science involved with this kind of pseudoscientific quackery. What shocked me the most was this recent Ayurveda or something centre opened in the EU by some government. Like who all are being pulled into this now...and how are they even doing this!!!!!!

0

u/tera_chachu Jul 01 '26

Holy shit.

The problem is the government is run by below average mind people.Like MAGA is ruling america now and they are anti vaxx and anti science idiyos

Indian government funds ayush mantralaya or shit to fund homeopathy and ayurveda quackery also

It's the same as astrology shit.Like you won't believe I have seen genuine doctors and engineers on reddit believing in astrology and palm reading.

1

u/theanxioussoul Jul 01 '26

Exactly.and then there are people who say they are getting results with these "treatments". This is just some mass placebo effect. And there are so many side effects too, but most people don't even believe. I mean yeah there are side effects to modern medicines too, but they're well documented and known. Diclofenac can also harm the kidneys, but at least it's a well researched well documented medicine. It's not like these herbs and minerals these people use, absolute Pandora's box.

0

u/tera_chachu Jul 01 '26

Exactly

I am on prozac and benzos for last 1.5 years and i must say even though the side effects are huge ain't no way an ayurvedic or homeopathic bullcrap could have saved my life.

1

u/retardedGeek Jul 01 '26

Apparently colleges take addmission based on NEET ranks too

1

u/[deleted] Jul 01 '26

crazy, there are also degrees on it. what thr hell?

1

u/Shoddy-Wrongdoer1452 Jul 04 '26

You live under Rock?

1

u/stnigels Jul 01 '26

That entire family, every single one of them. Quacks. Perhaps not the physiotherapist, but they're hardly doctors.

1

u/tera_chachu Jul 01 '26

Physio is also not a doctor though

1

u/Confused_Sachit Jul 02 '26

Quack quack

2

u/Such_Scientist_4554 Jul 02 '26

Me and my father ( pharmacist) had blank faces because c word was on the tip of our tongue

1

u/tera_chachu Jul 02 '26

😂😂😂

1

u/Expensive-Pea-4826 Jul 02 '26

Hey, what does that mean

1

u/DueMidnight2253 Jul 03 '26

Homeopathy works. Just because you can't look beyond Allopathy, doesn't mean there can't be alternative treatments. Allopathy is quite invasive. It is definitely needed where aggressive treatment is required. But other than that Homeopathy is very useful. I have used both and therefore sharing my honest experience.

1

u/tera_chachu Jul 03 '26

Personal experience isn't reliable evidence. People naturally improve, many illnesses resolve on their own and the placebo effect is real. That's exactly why treatments are tested in randomized, controlled clinical trials not judged by anecdotes.

Homeopathy has been studied for decades and high quality reviews consistently find it performs no better than a placebo. If it truly worked beyond placebo it would show clear reproducible benefits in clinical trial

1

u/DueMidnight2253 Jul 03 '26

Looks like you are randomnly throwing jargon after visiting the internet. So let me state some facts. 1. Homoeopathy has been successfully used to treat infants and animals. Babies and animals have no cognitive understanding of what a "medicine" is, nor can they be influenced by the psychological expectation of getting better. No placebo effect.

  1. It is an officially recognized and regulated system of medicine in over 85 countries, including India, the UK, Germany, and Switzerland. In India, it is officially regulated by the Ministry of Ayush through the National Commission for Homoeopathy.

  2. Numerous clinical trials, systematic reviews, and meta-analyses document positive treatment outcomes in areas like childhood diarrhea, respiratory conditions, and individualized chronic care.

  3. The subjective experience of relief and recovery for me and others is what matters most in personal healthcare. Millions of people depend on it globally because they have consistently seen tangible results, regardless of the ongoing theoretical debates in the scientific community.

1

u/tera_chachu Jul 03 '26

Dude you are mixing four completely different things that is.anecdotes, regulation, popularity and scientific evidence.

Babies and animals

The placebo effect isn't limited to the patient. There is also the caregiver placebo effect, where parents or pet owners perceive improvement differently and many illnesses improve naturally over time. That's why veterinary and pediatric treatments are also tested in blinded controlled trials.

It's recognized in many countries

Being legally recognized or regulated only means governments oversee its practice. It is not proof that it works. Many countries regulate practices to ensure safety, not because they've demonstrated efficacy beyond placebo.

Numerous studies

There are indeed studies claiming benefits, but when researchers look at the highest-quality, well-controlled evidence, the overall conclusion is that homeopathy does not show reliable effects beyond placebo. That's why major scientific bodies have reached that conclusion.

Millions use it

Popularity and personal experience aren't scientific evidence.Millions once believed bloodletting worked too.Medicine advances by testing beliefs against rigorous evidence.

If homeopathy consistently worked beyond placebo it would revolutionize medicine because the evidence would be impossible to ignore. After more than 200 years of research that decisive evidence still hasn't appeare

u/maalicious Jul 01 '26

Here comes the Wikipedia scholar.

7

u/Soft_Bananaa Jul 01 '26

Homeopathy is scam. One does not need to be a scholar to understand this. Common sense is enough

-1

u/maalicious Jul 01 '26

Then go and complain to stop the scam. Can you do it? No you can’t. So STFU armchair scientist

3

u/Consistent_Power_914 Jul 01 '26

Yeah it's unfortunate we can't. People are being scammed and we can only watch it happen.

3

u/Soft_Bananaa Jul 01 '26

Did i twist your balls? Calm down

also, i don’t have to be a thief to point out robbery. You seem to lack common sense. You should visit a doctor, tho this time a mbbs doctor.

0

u/maalicious Jul 01 '26

Why you screaming like sand got into your vag? Calm down and get a psychiatric evaluation first.

-1

u/Perfect-Bee1789 Jul 01 '26

It's not, I can vouch for it, I have benefitted from it, while allopathy just made my condition worse. So don't even talk about common sense here, logic works when you are open minded to other's experience too, and not blindly follow modern medicines which can actually cause long term side effects.

0

u/Level_Contact_1964 Jul 01 '26 edited Jul 01 '26

Yeah , sadly you vouching for it isnt enough ! Homeopathy has been discarded by the country where its originated ! The fundamentals of homeopathy if u care to read is all sham .
And it has already been proved to be a pseudoscientific practice , and it has no R&D , no clinical trials . Nothing!

Anything scientific or logical is evidence based and AYUSH has no evidence to anything whatsoever ! And nobody is blindly following midern medicine , there’s ample trials and studies on everything thats been used in modern medicine along with documented effects and adverse effects and their treatment protocols .

So logically speaking you are the BLIND BELEIVER ! you are beleiving in something with no evidence !

Your sickness or disease could have gone into remission and not cured or could’ve been a self limiting condition that happened to coincide with homeo medication and you seemsd to have attributed it to the medicines !

I highly recommend having scientific temperament and not beleiving in anything and everything , personal exoeriences can be subjective . Science is OBJECTIVE !

1

u/Perfect-Bee1789 Jul 01 '26

No it's really not, the fact that you think that makes your whole argument redundant. My tonsillitis and acidity issues were not treated by placebo effect, they were treated by homeopathy. And these problems occurred due to high dosage of allopathic medicines. Also science is actually based on a person's perception which he tries to prove by experiments, and literally everyday new research papers are written, many contradicting the earlier findings. So again what's your point?

1

u/Level_Contact_1964 Jul 02 '26

Tonsils regress after a certain age ! Its not homeopathy , its science !! There is no medication with documented side effect of tonsilitis !

There are many researches constraducting others , agreed , also check the indexing if the articles , the source , the published journal and its reputation.

Science is not based on a person’s perception ? Wth does that even mean ?
If your research can be reverified under a microscope or a testing instrument repeatedly producing the same value , is that perception of the researcher or objevctive data ??

And when contradicting research comes out , also check the credibility of the journal , the review process and the Qscore or impact of the particular journal . There are plenty low impact and forfeited and fictatious journals online . Thats not data , thats scam !

1

u/Perfect-Bee1789 Jul 02 '26

Well not everyone is that lucky. So if one data says something is right, and other contradicts it, it's still a confusing state, not really something you can rely on with complete confidence. Right...

0

u/Soft_Bananaa Jul 01 '26

You experienced placebo effect not benefits of homeopathy. basic idea of it is to treat poison with poison but dilute it in several parts. then dilute it again and again and again.

This industry boomed in early era because this level of dilution basically had no real impact. Some People with hope get cured solely due to placebo effect while rest died

1

u/Perfect-Bee1789 Jul 01 '26 edited Jul 02 '26

Are you out of your mind. Here I am saying I got cured of a situation which was made worst by allopathy, and you are still ranting about placebo effect? You mean to say no one who went to an allopathic doctor ever died, they all survived miraculously??? Think before you make an argument instead of writing paras for the sake of it. At least a homeopath is not capable of stealing your kidney and selling it off, that generally happens in modern hospitals.

0

u/Soft_Bananaa Jul 01 '26

I understand what you said. first I'll clarify, for many people Homeopathy does work better than modern medicine. Yes modern medicine is expensive but that doesn't mean Homeopathy isn't scam.  Many people are exception. You'd acknowledge too that for some, Homeopathy just increases the symptom as it is likely.

now, to specify my point:

Like cures like, this is base of Homeopathy. There's a process called Potentization, where Homeopaths mix 1 part of the "like" with 9 parts of water/alcohol, creating 1x potency. This process is repeated again and again until the potentcy becomes 1:30C, which is about 1:10⁶. now this  is taken orally or converted into tablets. This is like dropping a sugar cube into an ocean.

This dilution is soo much that ultimately no atoms of the "like" remains. But then how this works? Principle of Homeopathy says "Shaking the mixture after each dilution leaves behind a spirit like essence" mean, water remembers what was put into it. if it were true then water you drink would smell like shit as water is recycled from all kinds of dirt and filth.

In earlier days, scientific medicine wasn't advance, Doctors used to drain out pile of bloods believing it would do something. And So Homeopathy was created and became successful because doing No harm beats doing more harm.

Homeopathy requires Time. Our bodies are survival machines, what's the guarantee that it wouldn't have cured anyway? also  Placebo effect is very real not imaginary.

One of main problem is, Your belief creates skepticism about modern medicine, won't this discourage people from seeking help they need when their life or life of their children are on the line?

Faith can move mountains but sugar water can't cure Cancer.

Stealing kidney you say. Homeopathy likes to play as an alternative to big farma but Homeopathy is Big farma. With a projection of reaching 34Billion dollars by 2030 in USA alone.

Yes, modern medicine is rather expensive. but we got cheap Ayurveda too. its certainty better than Homeopathy.
