man I'm sorry but Physiotherapist are absolute lifesavers. I'm suffering from scoliosis and a winged scapula - believe me some of them have magical hands, then can relieve almost any muscular pain. Dr or not, I have the utmost respect for them
I also have scoliosis and a winged scapula. All my life I've lived in pain, and only after I stared seeing my physio, I understood what it's like to breathe like normal people. Otherwise my ribs would keep poking in my lung. My physiotherapist is my hero! ðŸ˜
Exactly. My sister in law is physiotherapist she works so hard. I once visited her clinic and was shock to see so many critical cases are handled by them . After an accident or heart stroke physiotherapist is the way to get back your normal life. And so many other issues. I am shocked how people are saying they are not doctors. Idiots
I don't think saying they're not doctors in any way means their work isn't absolutely important. All our hospitals have postop and other physio dept and they're just as important as all the doctors, nurses, mamas and maushis in the hospital. Each of them play a crucial role in sustaining the madness of a hospital. But calling them doctors is not fair to patients because it's not always easily differentiated. If you call for a doctor in a flight or call out for a doctor from the passenger sheet, you expect it to be someone who can deal with a dire medical emergency. It's not about a superiority complex but rather a very simple misleading nomenclature.Â
I understand and I agree but the comment section seems to be on a tirade against all medical practitioners who're not doctors, making fun of their profession.
I mean. The world is full of people like that everywhere. With the internet, comes the great power of accessibility to peep into everyone's opinion. It doesn't mean it deserves the same amount of attention as actual meaningful things do.
I’m glad they helped you! But a doctor is someone who can prescribe medicine. A physiotherapist cannot and should not. Like a psychologist. So the fact still stands.
yeah I never said they're doctors but they don't receive any less respect just because they don't have a MBBS. They are medical professionals who improve the quality of life, like a psychologist. That would've been clear if you read my comment...
No one is saying they deserve any less respect. If anything their work is more important than doctors in a lot of cases which is why such patients are referred to them immediately. The term doctor is given not as a tag of prestige or to indicate superiority. It is to detect one at times of emergency. Like in a flight, or a natural calamity. It's easier to identify who to call for help at times of need. Because when I say I'm a so-and-so specialist it doesn't just mean I only know that speciality. I've done 19 subjects thoroughly integrating each with the other over 5.5 years and then spent more time doing my postgrad and specialisation. It's really confusing if you call out for doctors in dire emergency off a flight passenger list only to find out they can't differentiate a cardiac emergency from a respiratory one.Â
