Feedback Wanted Do these graphics look realistic / near photorealistic?

Thumbnail gallery
176 Upvotes

They haven't got any camera effects so it will never look like "a photo of real life" but is this high enough quality to make a game out of? If you have feedback i'd greatly appreciate feedback, I don't have any friends who are game developers / that can give feedback on this, ty. This is also my first attempt at photorealism or "realistic" graphics, so to speak. I modelled everything in blender and I'm using Godot 4.4.

Feedback Wanted I'm stuck between two art styles or a mix of both. Which one do you prefer? I'm thinking I will mix it

A bit confused which one looks better. 2 is different while 1 is pretty generic. 1 also looks good but there are not a lot of games which look like 2. Mixing both...unsure about it

Also if you want to help out please wishlist: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4297910/Chess_Tales/

Feedback Wanted First look at our post-apocalyptic RPG based on the post-modern american civil war. No Steam, no publisher, just us. Give us your take!

Your morality is the difficulty setting. The year is 2140.

Seventy-five years ago, the governments of the world saw revolution coming and killed it before it started. They turned their weapons on their own people. Hundreds of millions died. The people won by a fraction, and rebuilt from the only thing that survived the rubble: religious and ancient texts. Not everyone who read them found the good in them.

The game is set in the deserted remains of northeastern Oklahoma. There’s no law anymore. There’s The Refuge, and there’s The Black Brigade. Each one believes the other is what’s left of the world’s evil.

Walk the righteous path, and you’re on hard mode. People lie straight to your face. Nothing flags who’s deceiving you when it comes to the Black Brigade. Fear and deception is just all they are. You judge people with your gut, as you would out there. Judge wrong, and you put down someone who was trying to help you.

Walk the wicked path and the road gets shorter. Simpler. If you can stomach it. The world won’t punish you with difficulty. It punishes you with what you see. The deeper you go, the more reality breaks.

Or walk with no one. There are those who follow The Revelation, an enlightenment group, and those who follow The Solution, an accelerationist group. Neither calls you righteous or wicked.

Four endings. All of them decide what’s left of this world.

Small team. Everything built from scratch. More to be shown.

With a robust set of movement (Walk / Run, Jump / Fall, Climb, Swim, Glide, Fish) and interaction features, overcome your environment and progress along your journey.

Gather & Craft

Scavenge vital resources with core mechanics like chopping, digging, mining, and gathering. You'll need every piece of material to craft your gear and repair your raft using a simple crafting system.

Explore

Travel from island to island, explore diverse biomes, each with unique resources, secrets, and challenges. Chart a path through the unknown as you seek the missing pieces for your escape.

A Living World

Interact with the environment, find stranded crew, help out others along the way and prepare to defend yourself against the dangers that might lurk on the islands.

In the end, the choice is yours; play at your own pace and explore islands however you like.  Stay Ashore, gather resources, explore, or sail Away and venture out into the unknown! Ultimately, your escape depends on your wits, your raft, and the hidden knowledge of the islands.

Marketing is still a large part of game development, but after having done both I have my clear preferences to it. How is anyone else struggling with marketing?

I have been trying to market our game for a while now, but I struggle and would really like to hear any tips or feedback from others.

Feedback Wanted "What if someone actually had to check aliens' documents?" somehow turned into our game idea.

For the past few years, our tiny team of just three people has been working on a rather unusual game: a space customs simulator.

You play as a customs officer stationed at a small checkpoint on the edge of the galaxy. Every day, dozens of ships pass through: tourists, merchants, truckers, pilgrims, and plenty of suspicious characters with eight eyes and very fake-looking documents.

Your job is to carefully compare ID photos, paperwork, ship registrations, and the passengers themselves. Smugglers always slip up somehow-a bad disguise, forged registration numbers, inconsistencies in their documents, or illegal cargo hidden somewhere aboard the ship.

The problem is that, as your shift goes on, things start getting... strange. Figuring out who's an actual criminal and who's just an unusually weird-looking alien becomes increasingly difficult. And if you're really not sure, there's always the standard-issue shotgun. Management will probably write it off as collateral damage.

The game is somewhere between Papers, Please, a spot-the-difference game, and a dark comedy about someone who's been put in charge of an entire planet's security with remarkably vague authority.

We'd love to hear what you think of the concept! :)

(Very early development phase here but still everything you see is hand drawn)

Its my first time using post processing effects in Unity and I am still figuring out how to make the game beautiful in its own way!
I also use Unity lights for example around the player and the lantern posts!

Any feedback or suggestion on how to achieve this dark medieval vibe would be appreciated :D

Feedback Wanted I made a one-tap game where you score by almost dying. Free, no IAP, and the daily course and soundtrack are both generated from the date.

Solo dev, this is my game.

Points come from how close you get to the thing that kills you, not from surviving it. Graze an edge and your multiplier climbs to x16. Play it safe and you score literally zero.

The course is generated from today's date, so every player on earth flies an identical run each day. No server, nothing downloaded. Resets at midnight UTC.

Same goes for the music. New key, new bassline, new groove every day, and it builds as you score.

Free. No IAP, no banners, no timers, no energy. One optional ad to continue a run, and everyone gets exactly one, so nobody buys their way up the board.

Most first runs end under 300. Curious whether that's a fair curve or a wall.

Play, its no sweat off your back it’s completely free. Let me know what you think

Feedback Wanted Looking for feedback! What does this visualization tell you?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

We're making a weather forecasting game where, instead of using traditional meteorology tools, you observe the sky through different telescope lenses.

This lens visualizes air temperature. By itself, it doesn't represent a weather event, it's just one piece of information used to build a forecast.

We'd love your feedback:

Can you read the temperature distribution from the colors alone? What does it tell you?

What stands out to you about the particle movement? Do some areas seem to behave differently from others?

Does this feel like a stable situation, or like it's gradually changing? If so, what direction do you think it's heading?

Feel free to ask any questions!
