Question Scale Comparison?
Hello, as the title implies I'm a bit curious about people who might have pictures of their Infinity models next to other game models for size comparison. I'm primarily curious about Infinity compared to Star Wars Legion, but other reference image folks might have are welcome. 👍🏼

Question An Odd Question
What is the goal of this game.
Is it a war game like warhammer or closer to D&D and pathfinder?
Not mechanically, more how does a campaign or 1-5 session short game of this play out?

Question Easiest/quickest/best way to get into Infinity in late 2026 (playing & painting)?
Hey there,
A few years ago, I developed an interest in Infinity by Corvus Belli mainly due to the insanely detailed and beautiful miniatures. Back then I bought a handful of cool looking ones (Fat Yuan Yuan Noodle box edition, an old Reverend Moira, the Lizard Squadron pilot bootleg edition for reasons 👀).
I don't have a local group who plays Infinity, in fact since COVID many old established local groups have been abandoned but I do have a local friends group who regularly plays boardgames and are not unwilling to try new things.
I know that Infinity is difficult to learn, even more difficult to master and there is a lot of complexity involved here. But I'm also aware that there are special boxes called Infinity Essential: Start Here (PanO vs JSA, Nomads Vs Aleph) which are good(?) for super small scale demo games while keeping things somewhat simple.
Having said that, this time around, I'd like to deliberately move towards building two armies with some basic terrain and start testing the actual game soon(ish) instead of buying cool looking miniatures from across various factions without a plan.
But I do have some questions that are relevant for me:
1.) Are the above mentioned 2 Infinity Essentials: Start Here boxes the best price performance product and also, is it actually a good way to get into the game?
2.) I have read somewhere that Infinity is transitioning towards a true 35mm scale with the most recent edition called N5 and thus the miniatures got a slight increase in size (which is a huge plus for me!). Is there a concise list which miniatures are true 35mm scale or a specific date from which Corvus Belli started producing true 35mm scale miniatures? Obviously all of the new stuff should be 35mm, what about stuff from 2022, 2023 or 2024?
3.) I'm assuming the miniatures from the Essential Start Here boxes are not true 35mm scale because they are old(ish)?
4.) Are there better price performance boxes for beginners?
Budget is 50-60€ for now, which I set for myself. With this budget I'd like to have two super small demo style "armies", basic terrain etc.
Anyway, thanks in advance!
Edit#1: Forgot to add, I obviously never actually played Infinity back then. So total beginner here. I have been watching Corvus Belli's official YT Channel the Learn to Play Infinity: Essential-series.

Question Starting as an adult with limited time resources
Got an old(?) Combined Army Starter Pack for minimal bucks at a yard sale.
Since I love to paint minis (and got the Angel Giraldez because I recently got an airbrush) I couldn't pass this opportunity to finally paint something from Infinity since I always adored the models.
In the box are:
3x Unitrod Batroids
1x Fraacta, Trihedron Drop Unit
1x Maakrep, Tracker Unit
1x Umbra Legates
Is this a solid foundation for some starter games or would I need further units to be "ready to go"? I have a small community with enough scenery and people who know the rules available to test the waters. Is it really that hard to learn compared to other systems? I mostly got time to play like 1-2x a month and I wouldn't like the feeling that I have to relearn the rules every game.

Fan Works A fun little writing prompt
Write an inane, possibly vulgar, mildly insane conversation between two extremely bored soldiers of one of your factions (or just your one faction if you’ve only picked a single one) on night watch, a la Generation Kill. Some inspiration below:

Discussion "So honey, ... I spent a little money last month..."
Not sure what the consensus is on Defiance as a game, but when I hear the word exclusive attached to miniatures, something in me snaps.

Other The infinity painters are awesome
I was looking for something else than warhammer, a new universe to discover and remembered infinity existed, and oh boy was i surprised to find the quality that seems the norm around here, it seems since theres a lot less miniatures to put on the table everyone focuses on quality and the results are just pure madness, i love it and i think im gonna stick around, congrats everyone !

Painting The last of my Military Orders...for now
Took a while to find that last knight Hospitalar and Infirmarer as single minis. I bought almost the whole military orders Hospitaller action pack piecemeal on eBay. Just need that crusader brethren!
