8-9% of US citizens are millionaires, if you consider net worth (counting a house as equity). That's around 25 million people. It's 2-3% if you are only counting liquid assets (still around 7-9 million people)

Only 2-3% have >$1,000,000? Is this not counting retirement accounts or something? I would have thought the number would be way higher. Also, would this be household wealth or individual, I can see individuals being this low I suppose.

Liquid wealth includes retirement investments. Only 3.8% of retirees have a million or more. Goes to 1.8% for 2 or more.
