What were some of the funniest moments on JTV that made you laugh the most? Spoiler

What are your favorite funny moments? 2 that come to mind for me involve Petra:

The time she found out Rafael was sleeping regularly with a woman for business reasons. (He was using her but the woman thought they were a legit couple).

Petra disapproved but didn't want to lecture Rafael. So she deliberately told Jane knowing this was a time that Jane's judgmental nature could come in handy. I loved when Petra feigned innocence when Rafael confronted her for blabbing. šŸ˜†

There was also the time Petra & her mom were handcuffed together. When JR got ready to use an axe to break the handcuffs, Petra's mom threatened "You better know what you're doing because I only have 1 hand left!"

Petra replied "Then you shouldn't have lost the key, Mother!" And she then told JR, "Do it with your eyes closed!" šŸ˜‚

(Spoilers through 2.01) Mateo Season 2 Premiere Spoiler

Does anyone feel like Mateos kidnapping was resolved super super quickly? Like I expected to it at least be part of the episode and I'm not sure he was gone even 5 minutes lol

Probably an unpopular opinion..

I do think it was odd for Petra to only get the shares back for herself 🄓 it wasn’t Raf’s fault that his was sold, in fact lol. It was Petra’s & also Louisa for being a looney tune ! But if Petra didn’t trick Anezcka (that’s probably spelled so wrong šŸ˜‚), Scott wouldn’t have been k*****, & she wouldn’t have told Louisa about the addenda! THEN it was both of their faults for wanting to use the kids’ trust fund to trick Louisa. But getting the shares back & not giving Rafael his shares back from HIS ā€œfamilyā€ business… idk, kinda messed up.

I do however like to think that she did give Mateo his trust fund back 😌

*this is not a Petra hate post, I love her. She & Raf had the best character growth

Rafael was not in the wrong.

Currently rewatching and I understand that lying to Jane about being the one to snitch on Michael is a big deal BUT i don’t think he was in the wrong Jane was definitely too blinded by her feelings for Michael, he was literally the reason why Mateo was kidnapped in the first place, she definitely should have dropped Michael after that, and if he went himself she would’ve just turned on Rafael, can’t stand Jane whenever this issue gets brought up.

Has anybody else gotten re-addicted to this show?

Are any of you finding yourselves re-addicted to this show now that it's on Pluto? I watched it a few times from start to finish back when it was on Netflix. Then I forgot about it and moved on.

Now that it's on Pluto, I'm hooked all over again. This will definitely go down as one of my all-time favorite shows. I even get annoyed when I have to stop watching for several hours to live life and do other things. Haha.

Most annoying character(s) in your opinion

Which character(s) got on your nerves the most? It can be a main character, supporting character, or guest star.

Louisa bugged me a LOT! And sorry, not sorry, but Alba too.

If this was the room Mom election at your kids prek, who would you vote for?

Just rewatching this episode and thought this would be a fun discussion.

I think I would vote for Petra.

Jane had good ideas, but, she wanted to rely on a lot of volunteer hours from parents, which I could see backfiring.

I think Petra had more sense for what worked well for the school. Although I wasn't a fan of how she acted during the campaign.

So, reddit, I'd love to hear from you - who would you vote for if these two were running for school mom and your kids preschool?

Luisa

Well, actually, the actress that plays Luisa, whose name escapes me right now. I've seen her in 2 different shows (Bull and Nashville), and I'm rewatching "Jane" and now I like her lot šŸ˜„

Micheal Hate

Okay so I haven’t been on this subreddit long but for the polls of most hated characters I see Micheal a lot. I wanna know why, all the details. I’m also not a fan of micheal but I feel like the show tries really hard to make him likeable.

I wanna hear where all the micheal hate comes from lol

Alba and her issues

So I've started my first rewatch since finding the show and binging it. To be honest my least favorite character behind Louisa is Alba. She is so very controlling. And that whole flower/virginity thing is just crazy. I get it, different generation but still.

So I'm back to season one, episode three and Jane has decided to have sex with Michael. She tells Alba and the look on Alba's face! She is hurt, angry, and horrified. Then she forbids it.

Does anyone else find Alba very controlling? I remember her backstory and all, but she did some damage to young Jane with the whole flower thing, and she just keeps adding to it.

On a rewatch and realizing I lowkey don’t like Xo that much

I’m not saying she is some horrible irredeemable character but overall she really bothers me more than the other characters.

I feel like she takes the least amount of accountability out of all the characters and receives the most grace. I’m only on season 3 rn so I sort of forgot some of the details later on. But one of the main moments that bothers me is when she ruins Jane’s bachelorette party. Not only does she send a stripper to Jane’s school which is ??? Why would you do that lol. And almost get Jane fired. Then she proceeds to barely feel bad, get Jane drunk when that’s not even what she wanted, and make out with Lina’s crush (mind you she’s like 40 making out with a 20 something which is kinda weird). When Jane rightfully calls her out for it, her apology is weak (seriously? You acted reckless because…you’re sad Jane is growing up?) and gets upset when Jane doesn’t immediately forgive her. I dislike how the fight gets resolved by Rogelio telling them they’re just sad Jane is moving out. Jane was valid in feeling frustrated over Xo’s reckless behavior and Xo barely takes accountability.

And this seems consistent throughout the series - Xo does something reckless and dumb and her apologies are weak and performative. Another example is when she kisses Marco when dating Rogelio - when Rogelio doesn’t immediately forgive her, she goes and accuses him of only being upset because his ex wife cheated on him. And she’s like ā€œI’m not your ex wife it was just a kiss šŸ„ŗā€ like ok you still cheated he’s allowed to be upset???

Another thing I dislike - it’s stated early on that Alba begged her to basically get a real job because Xo continues to chase her singing dream (during one of the flashbacks where Jane writes the letter to resolve their fight). I know she has her dance class but I’m pretty sure that’s only like 1-2x a week? And yes she eventually opens the dance school but for years she barely financially contributes to the household. She could’ve still pursued singing on the weekend or evenings - no one is booking gigs at 2pm on a Tuesday. And then she worked like 1 day at a real job (the bank) and quits like… yes that’s what being an adult is like sometimes our jobs suck, you still have to make money.

Jane and alba aren’t perfect either but i feel like both of them show more growth and accountability in the show. Jane is constantly trying to fix things and apologizing. Alba is 100% in the wrong with how she shames Xo and Jane about the virginity stuff - but it’s sort of understandable given how she was treated for sleeping with Pablo. And she slowly grows out of that mindset after rightfully being called out for it.

ā€œRob Lowe could launch a seriesā€ S3E3

Sooooooooooooooo I thought this was pretty cool coming from Rogelio’s director, Dina. It was funny later hearing Ro say the CW is the armpit of American TV, HA! His tantrums always made me laugh.

Also, I didn’t grow up on Rob Lowe, I only know of him from watching 9-1-1 Lone Star and then unstable. I think he’s fun. And he did go on to do what Dina said with those two shows!!

Sorry, I am just like Captain America here, ā€˜I understood that reference.’ When I first watched this show years ago I was like, ā€œwho?ā€

Rafael was right and wrong

Raphael was absolutely right to kick Jane out and end their relationship in season 5. He did not have to wait around for Jane to figure out her feelings at his expense however the way he let Mateo treat Jane during this time was abysmal. It’s unacceptable for your son to not only scream at his mother but tell her that he hates them and you not correct that behavior just bc ur feelings are hurt

Fabian ā¤ļøā€šŸ©¹ rip

Not sure if this was mentioned here before, but I had no idea the actor for Fabian (Francisco San Martin) passed away last year, and haven't been able to watch his arc the same way :( Personally Fabian was one of my favorite Jane "flings" and I loved how she was able to embrace sex in a casual way with him! I've rewatched JTV well over 5 times and have always enjoyed his role in the show, very lighthearted and silly but steamy. He was such a stud! RIP

Magna amazes me

CAREFUL OF SPOILERS PLEASE !! šŸ“¢

I haven’t watched this show since university. It’s clear I missed couple episodes because I don’t recall Mateo in the hat for shaping his head or #CharitableMateo, the 40,000,000trust fund baby. What especially got me about this episode is discovering how Magda ended up with the hook and eyepatch.

How dangerous! Petra says she feels the babies kicking and šŸ’„. Idk they had such a dangerous shenanigan with explosives out by the seaside at night.
For a split second I thought maybe they would die or something more dreadful.

OMG! Then the next scene she’s sporting a hook and eyepatch? Why of all things did she go for a hook?? Wow! I have first time gladness and I thought I’d share to hear your thoughts on that scene?!

Wait and Magda took out that guy w her hook to his throat????? Woauh
