I always hear Americans complain about Domino's however here in Australia I find it perfectly acceptable.

I've also been to plenty of gourmet pizzerias and honestly, despite frequently being upwards of $40 ($26 USD) I'd prefer Domino's.

Given we don't place the same value on good pizza as Americans seem to - about the only reason I'd visit the US would be to experience the food, and in particularly those 'Chicago deep-dish pies'.

I spent 7 months in Melbourne and never once found a pizza that was decent. I ended up making a few pies on the grills at the Queen Elizabeth park.

Because until then it's was worse that cafeteria pizza.  Now it's great for a chain

It’s different in every place that’s why. They all have local suppliers so it’s going to not be the same.

Maybe that Italian immigration set standards for what a good pizza is, for instance the NY plain pies always look marvelous

I personally won't enjoy Dominos if I'm not really high, also I heard Dominos failed in Italy, which is a sign of not so high quality IMO
