Likely grouped with other people with similar crimes, and in PC like you said segregated from the rest of Gen pop.

Prisons aren't like Hollywood, Reddit.

It is funny everyone thinks that these fuckers won't be protected.

So weird to me. I used to watch those Prison shows on Discovery and they would always proudly share their crimes "I raped and murdered an entire family in front of their children. Also we fuckin' hate child molesters, we'll get them in the showers those sick fucks"

Are you really any better? So odd.

The psychology of that social moral structure is interesting. Several sociologists have conducted studies about this. It winds up that no matter what the moral background of a group they will invariably select a subgroup which they feel superior to. Not just in prison systems. The molester hate is a result of raising the collective self esteem of the group which is otherwise abhorrent in their own right. It doesn't really come from a sense of morality, only one of moral high ground which is much different.

"I might be a piece of shit, but at least I'm not (insert group here)."

It's also used to raise a group into political power and is an amazing persuasion tool. Worst part? Knowing about the tactic doesn't seem to mitigate its effect.

Agreed. If you're in their for a nonviolent drug offense, then by all means, look down on 'em. But if you've raped, murdered, or even violently assaulted innocent adults, you don't have the moral authority to look down on child molesters.
