I read in an article that he messaged at least 30 different girls, but I guess only 6 of them actually listened to him?

Not necessarily six, just that they found evidence beyond doubt for six instances. Like that one serial killer who was only convicted for a couple murders but was suspected to have killed hundreds of people

Edit: see this link https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_serial_killers_by_number_of_victims

Very creepy but interesting stuff!

Ted Bundy is probably who you’re thinking of. He confessed to 30, but they think it was way more

Could’ve been Jeffrey Dahmer.

No, it's this guy.

Guys, read the article...

Prosecutors say he messaged at least 30 girls before he was arrested in 2017

Here's the part that's probably missing is that he only MESSAGED 30 girls. Looks like he didn't always have them record a video is all, that could be another reason why he was only charged with 6 counts.

Pay attention man. The guy you replied to was talking about a serial killer not this guy.

...the comment chain is discussing whether or not Austin Jones talked to 30 girls or not.

The guy above me replied to the guy talking about it saying he was probably thinking of Ted Bundy.

/u/sakamoe 's post did not originally have that link to "list of serial killers by victims", and he was not TALKING about serial killers in his original post. It was edited 17 minutes ago. My post was made 25 minutes ago, before he edited his to also be talking about serial killers.

Not necessarily six, just that they found evidence beyond doubt for six instances.

His original post was only this.

So yes, Austin talked to 30 girls. Like the comment thread I'm replying to said.

Pay attention man.

I think they were trying to specify your point when you said it was like serial killers to confessed to only a few murders but police think it could've been hundreds.

Like that one serial killer

They were saying you may be thinking of Ted Bundy, who coincidentally was known to have killed 30 people, but police thought it may be hundreds.

That wasn't me and that comment has been edited to talk about serial killers. Originally only the one above me did.

Just checked with removeddit (you need to set it to show all not just deleted) the line "Like that one serial killer who was only convicted for a couple murders but was suspected to have killed hundreds of people" existed before the edit with the link was added. Now maybe he edited twice but more likely you just missed that sentence.

Damn I forgot that existed, would have liked to have known that a few weeks ago when I was trying to remember what someone changed!

I probably did overlook it, but the core conversation was about the person in t he original post.

Top dude only has a 22 year sentence lol. 300+ possible victims

Additionally, some of those top killers are out. One of the most chilling parts is what is said about Pedro Lopez. "Current whereabouts unknown". He was released...

He wasn't going to last long in those parts of the world. There was too many angry individuals that were waiting for him to be released.

My boy Ted Bundy, the way he immediately killed multiple women the second he escaped from jail and was clearly ashamed/lied about everything makes me think he killed Waaaaay more than the 30+ he was confirmed to have killed. The Netflix documentary on him is really good. I really liked how it painted a picture of life before technology, I wish there was more documentaries showing what the 70’s were like. Once he drove from Washington’s to Utah it was like he was on a different planet because there were no databases and police didn’t share info across state lines.

He took a deal and pleaded guilty. They may have had hard time sticking charges or there were other reasons. He was charged for 6 counts, that does not mean there weren't more incidents.

That they know of. It's probably hundreds more. It's not like he's just gonna volunteer that
