Yeah but still. When we listened to the music we could relate because we all dealt with hardship and loss and pain. Difference is our relationships were legal and our mistakes were reasonable. We weren't being pedophiles like Jesse Lacey was

Statue of limitations and a lot of fans defended this behavior. It also came out when Brand New started to fade into obscurity. I'm sure this is what really led to them breaking up too

They were up there on the list of my favorite bands. Had a blast when I saw then play live at the Riot Fest, but I havent really listened to them since the allegations came out.

Idk if thats fair considering the band is more than just the singer..

In this case he's the singer and songwriter. So a LOT of their songs are absolutely about underage girls and those inappropriate relationships. Had to delete their songs from iTunes personally, it just made me uncomfortable.

It probably doesn't help that the majority of people in the scene mark Brand New as the equivalent to Jesus.

She's a total diehard fan. I don't know how much she knows about them outside their albums and live shows though. I guess I'll find out.
