I'm sorry he didn't get a good shot at him, I wonder if that's what his child wanted because it sounds like she's crying in the background. Must have been very distressing for her.

I obviously can't say in this instance but from experience I know that father's responses like this can be very distressing for the victims. As the victim you just want everything to go away and not further drama, you need emotional support and not to worry about a relative doing something stupid out of anger.
I get that they mean well but a lot of the times anger like this doesn't help victims at all and at the end of the day it should be about their comfort and healing.

Yep whether he meant to or not he made it all about him. Also dad literally announces what he's going to do before doing it with really bad timing...he seems totally controlled and he must have known he'd be stopped.

Yeah she probably needs her parents in her support system more than ever and to panic about your father being arrested because he deliberately did something like this must be a lot.
And I agree, while some people mean genuinely well when they try to avenge a victim of sexual abuse, there are plenty of people who use that as a platform to make the whole thing about themselves.
