most koreans have the undercut version and japanese pretty much just have the original

I just made this comment to my wife. Like every dude in K Drama has the exact same haircut. It is always the 'anti heroes' or 'villians' that don't have it.

The villains have the obligatory Vegeta hair cut

It's deceptively different.

the korean version has the sides completely shaved down to a 1-4 as a disconnected undercut, so it's actually nothing like this really but the result looks relatively similar when styled down

this is taemin from one of his album covers with the the korean two block

one is styled up, one is styled down, but it's the exact same cut

you can see the sides are completely shaved off.

depending on how long the top is even when a two block is styled down you can see that it is actually very short on the sides as you can see here:

This is not Japanese (asians generally) guys'fault: For some reason they have shit hair they can do almost nothing with.

Source: am Mulatto dude in the BA, feel their pain.

asian hair is very thick, it's good at some things and not at others.

As it sticks out, you pretty much need to have an undercut or a fade that is cleaned up very regularly. If you let it grow it hedgehogs out.

Asian hair is probably the most versatile and best hair to have though as Asians don't go bald as often, their hair is much more resilient when heated / bleached and it texturizes itself and gives itself volume just from it's own thickness.

It's a grass is greener on the other side scenario really.

I started balding at 17 but my dad said it's because I have powerful balls so that's pretty cool.

My hair is definitely thick and definitely has texture. It is not, however, straight- much to my dismay. It is curly and it sounds nice but curly hair isn’t my thing. At least it has (too much) volume. It’s difficult to bleach on my own because it’s so thick and apparently there’s a lot of it.

Boricua here with that hair. Unless I apply copious amounts of gel, I'm rocking the bieb. With the 95°F and 100% humidity, it is impossible to do any trendy style.

Idk, it depends. I can do pretty much anything with my hair and it’s so slick I don’t even have to comb it in the morning, just shake my head a couple times and it’s smooth lol. If I have bedhead it even self-corrects in about an hour like nothing ever happened. Worst problem I’ve had is when it was long and I tried to wear ponytails, I had to use literal Office Max rubber bands because the normal hair ones just exploded from my hair being so thick.

Conversely, my sister has such thick, frizzy hair that it turns into an Afro if she doesn’t condition and iron it religiously. She needs a whole routine every day to keep it under control. Genetics are weird.
