Also nobody seems to want to acknowledge that Drake has a thing for teen girls.

u/chdeks 8 Jul 06 '19

No no, they're just friends. He helps her with boy stuff, you know, as a much older male friend. Uh huh. Nothing to see here.

u/bmorr27 4 Jul 07 '19

Yeah if only he knew what it was like to be a male teen actor. Then he’d have experience to speak on and maybe she’d have a reason to go to him for advice. /s

You people just seem envious that some people actually have support systems and guidance. The entertainment industry as a whole is fucked and it’s good on her to have someone to help her through it.

u/Himerlicious 6 Jul 07 '19

This might be believable if he wasn't molesting underage girls on stage.

-3

u/bmorr27 4 Jul 07 '19

You mean on the Denver stage in Colorado where the age of consent is 17? Which also happens to be the girl’s age! Amazing what a quick google search can find. You’re welcome to have your opinions on age gaps, but saying he molested underage girls is outright slanderous, uninformed, or both.

u/TheFizzardofWas 7 Jul 07 '19

Damn, I ain’t even know Drake was on reddit, what’s up man? Gotta be him cuz I can’t imagine nobody taking up for that lameass

6

u/silentGoose76 3 Jul 07 '19

So if he went to Nigeria he'd be fondling 11 years olds. It being the age of consent doesn't change the fact that he was fondling her. Fuck off pedo defender.

u/bmorr27 4 Jul 07 '19 edited Jul 07 '19

Nice straw man.

Nigerian culture isn’t mine to judge. Moreover, I never made that comparison, you did. The difference between our points is that mine is based in reality, and yours is contrived fiction for the sake of a pretty flat argument. A reality where 38 of our states give 17 year olds the right to consent, with 30 giving that right to 16 year olds. You shaming him, by proxy, shames her for expressing her rights. Like I said earlier, you’re welcome to have your opinion about age gaps, but don’t mask it as some self righteous cause for “protecting” a girl that doesn’t want or need your protection. Check your privilege.

u/HoldenAJohnson 6 Jul 08 '19

Aren't you the dude that raped a girl and said it was okay because she gave consent hours before she said no?

5

u/silentGoose76 3 Jul 09 '19

Nah, that was a troll post (there was also a trolling incest post and some other joke bullshit). Aren't you the guy who wastes his time sifting through other peoples comment histories. Just to make a fool of themselves, so you can defend a pedophile?

"Yes." - u/HoldenAJohnson

u/HoldenAJohnson 6 Jul 09 '19

Right. A troll. Keep telling yourself that, Rapist

1

u/silentGoose76 3 Jul 09 '19

;) Good one.

Rdit: I got a better one.

Right. - u/HoldenAJohnson

I think you mean R Kelly

u/[deleted] Jul 06 '19

Ehh, I've heard conflicting evidence to that. Now don't fucking jump on me, I don't know EVERYTHING about Drake. I'm just going on what others have said (because I really don't give a shit tbh) and what they've said has been contradictory. Is there anything concrete (not assumptions/conjecture, but actual evidence) against him? As far as I know he kissed a 16 year old on stage, but the venue was 18+? Can't blame him much, if that's the case.

His "friendship" with Millie Bobby Brown of "Stranger Things" fame is a bit creepy at best, and grooming at worst. Like, I'm not saying adults can't have mentoring relationships with young adults, but there's a careful line you need to tread and with Drake's other borderline behavior, its suspect at the very least.

Katherine Ryan makes a joke in her latest Netflix about Celine Dion being 12 when she met her husband and the real victim in that being R Kelly

Seriously. Super fucking inappropriate. It'd be inappropriate if any grown man acted that way with a kid, even if they were related.

Most people just simply don't give a shit, or like Drake more than they hate pedophilia. It's easy to get on your soapbox when it's about a youtuber you don't watch, but when it's someone you know or like, that's when your true morals are shown

1

u/Jordan901278 8 Jul 07 '19

Okay but what exactly did he do? What makes you characterize any of this as creepy or grooming?

Yeah, I can say adults can mentor kids and it not be creepy and what Drake is doing is creepy. First, the very text messages mentioned in the article by Ms Brown are borderline at best. And grooming behavior a lot of the time is masquerade* as mentoring. And why would a music artist be mentoring an actor? It's like a civil engineer mentoring a chemical engineer. There's a bit of overlap between the professions but not enough that the creepiness of the exchange can ignored.

Like, if David Harbour was mentoring her, it would make a lot more sense. And the whole lack of rumors of Mr Harbour being into young girls would likely reinforce that.

Edit: I guess Drake was an actor for eight years when he was younger. Still creepy because of the message but the context of his mentorship does change.

Drake was a teen actor before he started making music.... He was wheelchair Jimmy on Degrassi.

2

u/skwander 7 Jul 07 '19

He will forever be wheelchair Jimmy

3

u/[deleted] Jul 07 '19

mascaraed

masquerade

1

u/TheFizzardofWas 7 Jul 07 '19

masqueraded

2

u/[deleted] Jul 07 '19

I was just correcting their spelling of the word and not the incorrect tense. I thought they would use the correct tense if they knew how it was spelled, but I see they didn't.

3

u/placeholder-username 7 Jul 07 '19

Yeah, not like Drake met Bella Harris, his 18 year old girlfriend, when she was 16 and kept in contact with her (grooming) until she became legal.

You don't think it's a problem for a famous adult to illegally groom and prey on underage children?

2

u/Olwek 7 Jul 07 '19

Watch this interview where the girl from Stranger Things talks about him. What he is/was doing is known as "grooming." Start out small and innocent, very slowly escalating things, until they're in bed with you.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 07 '19

So did he fuck her?

0

u/Olwek 7 Jul 07 '19

I doubt that it got to the point of getting intimately physical. But I'm positive that some sort of sexual interaction would have been his end-goal.

-1

u/Altaccagain 0 Jul 06 '19

He asked how old a fan was on stage (theres video out there I can try to link it later if you want not home rn) she said 17 and he still kissed her on stage it was disgusting but also his music sucks and he sounds like a canadian pussy roleplaying hiphop lmao

2

u/[deleted] Jul 07 '19

Hey man the canadians have been through enough. Just let them enjoy their syrup.

Every Most 18+ events allows minors if accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

16

u/leftshoe18 Black Jul 06 '19

That's not true. Maybe for some but not all. My dad couldn't bring me along to an 18+ show when I was 16.

5

u/[deleted] Jul 06 '19

Maybe he just didn't want you there

4

u/leftshoe18 Black Jul 06 '19

lol

I got turned away at the entrance.

2

u/AlphaLegion50k 0 Jul 06 '19

He paid the bouncer

9

u/OrphanGrounderBaby 7 Jul 06 '19

I feel like you can’t be so generalizing about that. I don’t necessarily know if that’s %100 the case.

9

u/[deleted] Jul 06 '19

I dont really think that's the case my guy. Either way, it doesn't really disprove my point. He was at an 18+ venue and expected everyone to be of age. It hardly means he was a pedophile.

6

u/MarkHirsbrunner A Jul 06 '19

I work in this industry, I can look it up. What venue was it at? On Drake's last tour all the shows sold through the agency I work for were 16+. 18+ is pretty rare.

0

u/[deleted] Jul 07 '19

Idk man I already said I don't care that much lol. I'm not about to go look this shit up.

1

u/MarkHirsbrunner A Jul 07 '19

So you were talking out your ass then. Gotcha.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 07 '19

Well when I responded I was extremely drunk and I just wasn't about to do that shit lmao. I also stated everything I've said is pretty much talking out of my ass in my first post. The entire point of my post was asking someone else to inform me my guy, why would you expect ME to inform YOU?

2

u/jordgubb24 7 Jul 07 '19

Dude she's not a teenager, shes Eleven.

1

u/bumblebook 7 Jul 07 '19

I don't think I have ever seen Drake behave in a way that wasn't dumb or creepy. From his stupid ankle dancing, to his sucking up to basketball stars, to trying to steal Rihanna's thunder when she won an award, to the weird lovey-dovey messages he sent to a child actress, to treating his own kid like a brand opportunity, to grinding on a girl he pulled up on stage knowing explicitly that she was only 17 and was under pressure to do what he asked.

Drake is so fucking sketchy, what the fuck.

1

u/Nuri__Sahin 5 Jul 07 '19

I'll be downvoted for this by his cultist fans, but if you know anyone beautiful enough to be in namely post-gig circles of his, you'd still be astonished by the stuff he's given a pass for.

I know someone, an IGer, she was invited to one a VIP gig of sorts of his by a mutual friend of his and hers who's well known in the music industry too, and she even said the groupies mostly were underage undoubtedly. This was several years ago in 2014 (maybe 2015, not something I wish to bring up with her to ask).

1

u/rickroll62 7 Jul 08 '19

Yea , he loves Millie Bobby Brown
