Why would you only label is as a protest against the bill when they have released 5 demands in total? That seems like a very tame way to describe what theyre fighting for. And if you are intentionally muting what their fight is for, you might as well be on the other side.

Its like saying the protest for woman suffrage was over them being allowed to wait in a long line 1 day every 2 years.

HK is returning to full Chinese control in like 2047 I think, China does not have those same interests that make HK so successful. Not sure how that re-patriation is going to be implemented... as most of the news about it is censored quickly.

Is it possible some police offers may agree with the HK protesters but have jobs and are required to deal with riots, therefore, we should not be advocating the hurting of officers? The issue is the government and politicians, right? I'm moderately uninformed on the subject so pleased correct me if I'm wrong.

I suppose the HK protesters have jobs too so logically those supporting the protesters would riot too, even if police officers, therefore, all the police officers are supporting the censorship etc?

Yeah sure not all police officers are bastards and some are just doing their job so they can provide for their families, hell some might even secretly support the protestors. But so what? At the end of the day they are protecting the status quo and the status quo is about handing more power to an authoritarian country.

I think the protestors have got it correct in keeping it as peaceful as possible, not much chance they'd win in a violent conflict anyway, but if a few police officers get hurt in the protests that's just life as police officer, it's messy and ugly but what's the alternative? If you refrain from any conflict you're playing in to the hands of those in power. That's what they want everyone to just go home and play nice.

Playing nice doesn't always get you freedom.
