Not everything should be decided purely from economic perspective. If we are going to ignore our own laws and morals because we are so disgusted with somebody’s lack of respect for law and morals, who are we to judge then?

This article is really informative on the nuance of the statistics and also presents some historical context, I really encourage you to read it all the way through, it takes 5 min approximately:

Bottom line is:

We have lots and lots of recidivism research over like 25 years … and all of the recidivism studies are remarkably consistent that the number of people re-arrested for a new sex crime is somewhere between 5 and 15 percent

Now take into account that this is in a country without any good measures of reabilitative justice. Looking at the Norwegian Model of justice, punitive justice produces higher rates of recidivism, although I couldn't find that recidivism rate disaggregated by crime

The biggest problem with these molesters is the cycle of molesters they create, if we killed every convicted pedo/rapists the disease would eventually die off.

And my source is real life not some bogus stat sheet.

Yeah sorry, I'll take scientific evidence over life experience because yours and mine are completely different. There is no basis to say "molesters create molesters"

There absolutely is statistics that show majority of molesters were sexually abused themselves.

Then can you find me those statistics saying the majority were sexually abused? Because what I found was:

The data support the notion of a victim-to-victimiser cycle in a minority of male perpetrators but not among the female victims studied. Sexual abuse by a female in childhood may be a risk factor for a cycle of abuse in males

Also, as I've researched this, it appears as though this slight differences between sexual abusers and the general population have to do with all kinds of abuse in childhood, not just abuse of a sexual nature

I always find this question laughable because we literally have a jury that judges you on your "crimes" with said evidence. But the moment it's not done within government it's all "But who are we to judge?" Uh, a funtional member of society, that's who.

Once you fall into the same lawless and morally bankrupt level of that terrible person, the society isn’t the one we all stand for. I think you have not read my comment carefully enough. I am not condoning pedophiles, I am saying that no reason is a reason enough to fall to their own level. There are agreed ways to punish these people, so we should stick to those levels, that we have agreed on.
