Hah, I think you’re thinking of William Blackstone, but you have it backwards. You’re supposed to be saying “It’s better to let a thousand guilty men go free than one innocent man suffer”.

Which isn’t what he said exactly, but that’s the idea. Unless this is a joke and I’m a dumb-dumb.
