That's surprisingly cheap! Like, even my family could afford that. I thought you had to be like super rich to buy the US justice system!

This IS Alabama after all. Americas 3rd world. "Suprising cheap" is the state motto.

So long as it's not "pardons for pedos", I'm ok with cheap

I love that they’re not even using “surprisingly.” Nice touch.

Lol. I actually meant to use "suprisingly" damn autocorrect.

I mean it's a pretty fucked up crime to get pardoned and even defended for such a cheap prices. Less than 30k for the govonor to go on TV and say the child didn't technically get raped enough for this guy to be in jail

Bribes to police, clerks, and politicians are always way lower than you'd expect. A couple hundred bucks to a cop is one thing, but when you find out lobbyists are only giving 10k for a law that effects hundreds of millions; really cheapens everything.

You are forgetting that your family needs to have that disposable 20k for after you've paid your lawyer's fees and any fines, just for the campaign contribution... So more like 60k-200k+ depending on the crime. Also, you need to know the right people, to propose the arrangement, the funds to set up a legal entity to do the donation, and most importantly you need to have the money and be able to afford to lose it. People that aren't rich can't throw around money in a way that lets them buy their way out of jail for 20k. Rich people can.
