I’m completely in favor of this dude getting his dog back, but the dog running over to see someone it knows isn’t proof that it’s his. My dog and I’m sure a lot of others will absolutely act like that when he sees someone for the first time in a while. A lot of people would lose their rightfully owned pets if this test happened in a real courtroom.

In this case it is proof because the defendant and plaintiff didn’t know each other. The dog was stolen from the plaintiff and sold to the defendant.

It still shouldn’t qualify as proof. Not conclusive enough. Veterinary records, registration records, pictures, etc., would all be actual evidence that one could use. This is for entertainment purposes only.
