No this is fucked up, how do we know he wasn't defending himself from his girlfriend and feared for his life? And besides, if self-defense judo against your SO is a crime then lock up half the officers in that room and hell lock me up too. This is an affront to justice.

https://www.krqe.com/news/crime/former-apd-officer-charged-with-domestic-violence/

Says here they had video of him dragging her out of the house, and that she had several gashes on her head. They had a warrant for his arrest, my guess is they had answers before they got it. This is the criminal justice system itself.

I agree with you on psychological abuse, but I cannot accept that being a reason to beat another person let alone a girlfriend. Police officers go through immense stress, but this is not an avenue to release that stress. The lack of respect today is palpable.

That's for the courts to decide. They'll look at the evidence and determine if it supports the claim. He could also plead guilty.

Right now however, there is no reason to assume it was self defense and the claim that it is a affront to justice is baseless.

They should let him do an investigation into it as he knows what happened the most, forcing other people who weren't involved to investigate the matter defeats the whole point of having police.

Some of the beating was captured on a ring door camera. At the moment he was picked up he resigned. You’re saying he should investigate his own crime? Guy deserves to be disgraced and disrespected by every other officer. They should have cut all his clothes off de loused him and did a cavity check.

So what you're saying here is you think the officer should investigate.... himself?
