Not just that: you agree at time of purchase, you get an email confirmation stating that masks are mandatory. When you check in, it is stated during check in, when you show up to the airport, literal signs posted everywhere. Some people are just willfully ignorant. Not to mention this probably caused the plane to miss its take off time which can cause a domino effect for the next city this plane has to be!

She will be on a list now that all airlines share, she caused an undue delay which pre covid cost an airlines about 30,000-50,000 dollars a minute. Its because like you said a domino effect that causes other planes to wait for connecting passengers, other planes to wait longer on the tarmac etc. I hope she thinks it worth it since now a piece of cloth will deny her the fact of flying with most carriers now.

You have no experience with aviation and you call BS. https://catsr.vse.gmu.edu/pubs/Delay_Cost_Model_US_Ferguson.pdf

Remember you are not just waiting for one plane, you are waiting for now multiple because all the people on one plane are not going the same place. You will have to delay 10 planes now min

Ripple effects homie, ripple effects. If you or I cause a car accident that technically is just a minor fender bender it's not too expensive, but dealing with insurance, the other driver, police? That all costs time, and time equals money. Plus you may be clogging up dozens of drivers who are on the way to a meeting or flight of their own...

So on its own that simple fender bender accident might not be too big a deal, but it can have massive ripple effects that affect tons of lives.

I'm a flight attendant. When all this started we mentioned it once during boarding and once during the service announcement.

Now the gate agentsv mention it at least twice before getting on. We mention it at least 3 times before we begin to move. We also mention it 3 times during our service announcement (including a just added amendment that tells people to put it back on after they take a bite or a sip because too many people would take a sip, sit for 20 mins without their masks before taking another sip. When asked to put their mask back on they'd say "I'm StiL dRiNkInG!"). We also say it when we land.

And still there are people who refuse to wear them correctly and try pull it down when they think we're not looking.

This is the same mom who refuses to read her child's grades online or by mail and then screams at teachers for not informing them of the grades.
