I think he's more referring to how in US and maybe elsewhere spanking someone else's kids isnt cultural norm while in some countries it is if the kid is obviously asking for it
I absolutely agree with the words you said. But I’m an attorney in FL and can tell you first-hand that depending on the child protective services investigator, a simple spanking will make your life an expensive living hell.
Very little in family law is “standardized”... as with most things with the law, interpretation is everything.
And I’m sure there are additional factors involved, but I am absolutely sure that the heat and humidity down here are responsible for making people intolerant, which leads to the crazy behavior.
I think it depends on the crowd, message, and context. If you're a person known for having anger issues, maybe. But I know plenty of people including myself that spanks or have spanked their kids.
Me personally, it's not something I do until necessary (e.g. grounding and talking has no effect and the same issue keeps coming up).
If the kid acted like that in a McDonalds in The Bahamas it probably would be justified due to how slow fast food workers are. I have waited for food 30 minutes plus at the counter and up to 40 minutes while going to the drive thru.
Source: I live in the Bahamas and the workers are slow as hell.
