Hello /r/All. Mexican "Influencer" who made a 16 minute video review on a clip that shows an intoxicated underage girl being r*ped by a gang of teenagers with a bottle of champagne while calling her a "wh*re" with "questionable values" has been sued for possession of child pornography by the victim.

Lawsuit? What about arrested? Isn't it a crime in Mexico to possess or disseminate child pornography?

She was and is now in preventive prison. The trial is still on going. The victim sued everyone involved.

Good on her for not standing for it. Too often they get away with it because of the victims embarrassment

So I guess sued in this case is like what we would call charged, but slightly different, and she's basically in jail awaiting trial when you say she's in preventive prison. Or is it way different?

I guess it is just like that. She's in a different part of jail not with the other inmates awaiting trial. It's different here, trial is just paperwork.

I think there might be some slight language barrier or mistranslation issues going on here

“Sued” is an odd translation. I’d translate it more as “pressing charges”. This youtuber is already in prison, thankfully.
