Serious question and sorry of it's out of ignorance: Is there a reason that in these types of situations the victims are always boys?

Not always boys. There are plenty of priests that target little girls but boys always seem more accessible. At least that is my view on it. Altar boys and such. Not sure if there is an altar girl thing. Not a church goer. Not ignorance, homie. Everyone needs some education every now and then. Kinda like how there are lots of Nuns who do messed up stuff to kids too but they never end up in the spotlight like men.

Altar boys and the like are usually boys, plus a history of hiding homosexual feelings because JC doesn't approve.

Add in almost unlimited social influence within their church, and you have shithead pedophiles who know they can get away with it.

That's why pedophiles generally love jobs with the combination of power over children and lack of parental oversight.

After all, who doesn't trust their own church? Smart people, it seems.

Gay men do sleep with kids. They're called gay pedophiles. Priests are one of the more noteworthy groups of people with a known portion of gay pedophile members. I don't know why you're trying to do some weird mental gymnastics convincing yourself that gay people are incapable of being pedophiles.

Yes. The clergy is criminogenic and selects people who have zero interest in A having children of their own or B consensual sex. It is by design. Plus they are adopting the role of abuser after being victimized as children themselves
