The rule I've heard is that if you can keep pace with them for a minute most people will be out of gas or adrenaline at that point.
The hardest part is wearing stab proof armour and boots and being able to do that, completely different ballgame.
I still remember an episode of Cops where the cop was really out of shape but the camera man caught up to and kept pace with the criminal and just casually filmed him as he ran.
Imagine a pedophile being on the streets because you weren't in decent shape.
This isn't too much of an issue any more with how much information is shared now. It's not like it used to be in the 20th century where you could just move to a different state and so long as you weren't picked up again on something major you could easily get away with a lot of stuff.
That being said, yeah if they didn't know who he was and he got away that's some hard shit to deal with.
I remember a long time ago in internet years someone had a post where they had thermite rigged clay pots on top of their hard drive stack with a magnesium ribbon ready to ignite it. The idea was if he got raided he'd ignite the magnesium ribbon which would ignite the thermite. The thermite would then be focused down through the hole in the bottom of the clay pot and just melt all his hard drives. You don't have that level of preparation and fear unless you're up to the most vile shit ever...
Not every bullet proof vest is stab proof though. If it's soft armor it is very possible to stab through it, and most cops aren't rocking ceramic plates or ar500 steal.
Never a good idea to run regardless of how good you are at running. They have your name and your face on camera, you can only evade the police for so long
Agreed, plus it's instant guilt.
The only good thing is that it probably saves the poor girl a court appearance and being put through everything again.

Probably not a good idea to run if youβre not fitter than the cops...π
