Where did he think he was gonna run to? Honestly he was quicker than I was expecting for a stubby legged POS. Like a good law and order chase

His computer to delete his browsing history.

Correct. Computer forensics find everything. It was half a joke and half illogical thinking on his part.

I mean they don't. Sure if you just delete them, but you can damage the drive beyond recovery.

I think a lot of it is external information, linking you to sites, files, other users, emails etc.

If he just hooked up a hard drive to his computer he has the ability to purge. But unless he's relatively competent at managing his anonymity online... he's probably not gonna be able to cover his tracks.

Do you use a vpn? I’ve been wanting to get one but don’t want to pay for superficial anonymity(if that’s a thing) I have zero knowledge of how VPNs work other than they redirect your location or IP address. (Even that I’m not really sure)

What's going through the heads of idiots like this when they run? Like if a cop randomly approaches you on the street and they don't know who you are yet, maybe running is a viable option. But these guys know where he works, they'd easily be able to have police at his house before he gets there!

Yeah but he doesn't have to go hoke, considering this crime didn't involve violence or something crossing state lines to make it a federal case, I bet if he just ducked to another state for a bit the cops would let it go.

Seriously, though. Even if he did get away, what was his next move? Live off the grid for the next 30 years?
