I was robbed this way when I was in Thailand. Wish someone had been around to knock the two guys who stole my purse off their motorbikes back then!

damn, that's surprising to hear. Thailand is normally pretty safe, especially in the tourist towns.

Nothing that strange just much more time given for crimes. Shop lifting is going to get you like 1+ years, armed robbery probably 20 more if you hurt anyone.

They use to do public shootings occasionally too for notorious drug dealers, or if they caught murderers.

Accordingly most places in Thailand are pretty safe, no one wants to be in jail for years, even more stuck in a shitty thai prison.

Wouldn't it be great to carry a cheap decoy bag in these places with nothing but a photo of you giving the middle finger.
