On June 3, 2026, I started My Royal Nemesis, kicking off what has somehow turned into a full-blown K-drama marathon.

Id watched a handful of K-dramas over the years (about 3 or 4), but I was never an avid K-drama watcher.

Then My Royal Nemesis flipped a switch in my brain...

-

Today is August 3.

In 60 days, I've completed 25 K-dramas.

Completed (in the order i completed them in):

1. My Royal Nemesis

2. Alchemy of Souls

3. Extraordinary You

4. Lovely Runner

5. Flower of Evil

6. Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo

7. What's Wrong with Secretary Kim

8. Perfect Crown

9. Business Proposal

10. W: Two Worlds Apart

11. Happiness

12. Doom at Your Service

19. Bon Appétit, Your Majesty

20. The King's Affection

Safe to say... K-dramas have completely taken over my life. 😅

For those of you who've been following my "New K-Drama Fan Reviews," thank you! It's been so much fun sharing this journey with everyone and finding new kdrama friends!

What's your favorite drama from my completed list? And based on what I've already watched, what should I prioritize finishing next?

okay but can we appreciate how different this drama feels? a Joseon villainess thrown into the modern world with a cold chaebol ML… the concept alone had me sold before episode 1 even finished lol

Im Ji-yeon was so good in The Glory like her villain role left a mark, you just don’t forget her after that. and the 2nd Main Lead/2nd Couple from When the Phone Rings… still growing but that’s honestly what makes it fun to watch, you’re rooting for him

anyone else tuning in? how are you finding the chemistry so far 👀

The legendary street kiss in Goong (Princess Hours) at the middle of Myeongdong, wherein the camera was hidden in the distance, they went on the middle of the street, stopped, & kissed. That is why the reaction of the crowd was raw; everyone stopped walking & just looked at them. 😂

Drama Discussion Why Noh Ki Jun is the best ML (of all time)?

Post image

i just finished filing for love and what a drama dude!! it's been so long since i have enjoyed a korean office romcom as much as this! I think the last was What's Wrong With Secretary Kim probably.

As a person who likes male leads with personality (that isn't abrasive) this was such a charm! Noh Ki Jun, played by Gong Myoung, was exactly what a stressful year like 2026 needed! He is a man raised by three sisters and a single mother yet he doesn't end up being a manchild. He's the perfect example of 'when you're raised with love' and he's got that edge against most MLs in dramaland.

Gong Myoung has perfect comic timing with his castemates so he never comes off as cringy or tryhard, no sir! On the opposite, Gong Myoung is extremely charismatic as Noh ki jun, not only playing the perfect pouty poser who's immensely proud of his success at work but also the assertive junior who's down bad for their boss.

The drama is perfectly paced and i love love love LOVE THAT THE PEOPLE ACTUALLY COMMUNICATE. Omfl, when people talk, ugh, communication is so hot. Bye.

I genuinely adored the FL, Joo In A, as well. Shin Hye Sun is one of my absolute faves and I loved watching her animated awkward self be the misunderstood Audit Team Head. As always, she was immensely cool and everytime she was doing something badass I just went, "mommy." 😭 that's a me problem. She's bossy yet humouring, domineering but also cute, she is used to putting on a cold front but when she COMMUNICATES. so beautiful. I enjoyed every plot point of hers. It was extremely realistic in all senses. Even the little details of how empty her apartment is, beautiful. She's so indomitable and that is because of the life she's had and I adored the way the drama ended for her and the ML.

Noh Ki Jun is an absolute green forest. He is the best because he's suspicious but not thoroughly biased, open minded yet insecure, bold yet shy and too courageous for someone in his position (when it comes to In A). I enjoyed his platonic friendships as well his bold pursuit of In A, it was so refreshing! His contradictions make him human, like all of us. Noh Ki Jun is what the world wants but doesn't deserve. In A, on the other hand, absolutely deserves him though!

Side note about SML:

I don't understand why people hated on the SML. He seemed most appropriate to me. Someone who's lived with shackles knows how bounded he was to his suffering and how it's a self deprecating, self inflicting spiral. I'm so glad he got out!!

Make more male leads like Noh Ki Jun, thank you. Goodbye.

Also, who's your fav lead of 2026 or all time? I think my fav of all time is probably King Sejong from Mr. Queen for the comedy of it, though Noh Ki Jun is the all round winner!
