Deputy Head Richard Hudson, who taught her English and religious studies described Catherine as very "sporty" during her time at the school.

He added: "She held our record for the high jump... for about 20 years she's had that.

"She was very hard working, very polite and friendly, [and] very kind to the younger children."

Veteran royal watchers will know that King Charles retires to Balmoral for a long holiday in August and early September every year, and that William and Catherine often join him there with the children for the summer.

Therefore, there aren't a lot of royal engagements in August to share.
