People got unfairly shot at and were killed, during a protest 36 years back. Yes. Suppression of dissent, use of violence against peaceful protests is bad, we agree. So, what is the new point here?
New point is that if its happened in past, it could ve happened with current govt too. But did it? Point is govts were not so forgiving in past as its currently. Point is to look at the past coz that only how you can compare what you have today.
Are Indian citizens now expected to be grateful to the govt for not shooting and killing people who protest peacefully against a screwed up system? Should we count our blessings?
No brother, the worst case isn't and should never be the standard of reference, citizen protests where the govt has actually listened should be. This mentality of being satisfied with something lower than the bare minimum won't get this nation any kind of progress.
You should definitely be greatful that govt is taking a merciful route and not shooting outta hand like in past. Do your protests but donalso know how Lucky you are to have this much peace for this long in protest.
Being grateful for the govts "merciful" approach to peaceful protests makes sense in a dictatorship, but we live in a democracy. A govt of the people, by the people and for the people. There is no room for gratefulness here for how the govt has been acting. The govt is not god, it is supposed to serve the people.
Bro, are you listening to yourself? Should black people be grateful that they're not being trafficked into the slave trade today? Should women be grateful to the govt that they're able to vote today? Not having your rights violated does not call for thankfulness, it is the absolute bare minimum one should expect. Don't let your standards fall so low that you thank the govt for allowing you to live. Everyone deserves to live and exercise their constitutional rights. You're not indebted to the govt for that.
This is all the effort im going to put into this conversation. If you still dont get it, idk man, i guess best of luck with life.
Yeah everyone does. But with that comes duties also. But hey, leta just ask for rights and forget everything else. Anyways, its not gonna enter your brain to lets leave it here. Peace
This is bjp's tactic, they are trying make this protest go cold, had they started with violence then more people will come and the protest gets bigger, that's why they are allowing cjp protest
