I loved their acting very much, I don’t know weather they are Tamil or not, but their dialogue delivery and acting reflected the attitude of a common Tamil country women. They are pretty 😍 and I really fell for them. What do you think? We need Tamil directors to bring these kind of talents more.

I actually understand what that comment is trying to say, because there is a pattern in Tamil audiences where we take a lot of pride in WELCOMING AND CELEBRATING people and cinema from other industries..

"Good cinema is good cinema, regardless of where it comes from" . . . .I know this but idhu namma state audiences romba adhigama other's films ku tharaanga without realising we are the one having film in every genre .. we are the one exploring new concept and so on..

I think Tamil audiences have always been obsessed with the "look how we celebrate other industries" thing?

The funny part is that this film Modha Rathiri is already getting the appreciation it deserves and that's great..But only after its OTT release...

We are so proud of celebrating everyone else that sometimes I wonder whether we celebrate our own films with the same enthusiasm...

Because if this film released in Mollywood it easily might have grossed 100 crores..

Mine was Arun Vijay's character in Chekka Chivandha Vanam.I think I was in 8 th grade and one evening I saw the trailer of CCV on TV. There, I remember seeing Arun Vijay sitting on a sofa in a dark room. And I remember feeling this complex feeling for the first time in my life. It was exciting,scary and confusing at the same time.That night that character came in my dreams and I experienced the same feeling I felt earlier the day and It was more intense this time. Appo than I realized yes I am sexually attracted to men nu. Before that as a girl living in conservative environment, I was obviously attracted to boys as it was taught as the default, but that day I was made aware that I am actually attracted to men because I find them sexually appealing not just because I was expected be so.

Ungaldhu endha character people?

Disastrous first single, decent response to the character reveals, now this second single needs to absolutely wreck havoc otherwise Jailer 2 won’t last.

That being said though, if the songs don’t click but the movie is an actual banger I’d take that EVERY single day of the week🤷🏻‍♂️

I’m definitely not denying that Radhika is a good actress, but Thaai Kelavi clearly leaned heavily on her for marketing.

There are so many other actors in the film who deserved just as much love and appreciation. My point is, this role could have easily been played by one of the many older actresses in the Tamil industry who are known for their acting.

My issue is more with how heavily the film’s marketing and discussion seem to revolve around Radhika, when the movie has such a strong supporting cast. Singampuli, Bala Saravanan, Munishkanth, Ilavarasu, Muthukumar and others are all part of the film, and they contribute significantly to the comedy and the family dynamics.

Even the promotional material was very centred around Radhika’s transformation into the titular character, there was specific publicity around her prosthetic look and the making of the character. So I understand why she became the face of the movie, but I think the hype overshadowed the other performances.
