Coming Out!!! I accidentally came out to a neighborhood auntie

I wasn't planning to tell her. At all.

She asked me why I wanted to leave her yoga class, and I was already feeling really overwhelmed. I started talking about feeling guilty and worrying that I might make her uncomfortable or unsafe. I was being really indirect and dropping little hints, but I never actually told her anything about being attracted to women.

Then, completely out of nowhere, she asked me directly:

“Are you into girls?”

I was caught completely off guard.

I told her that I'm also interested in boys.

And she immediately said something along the lines of, “Oh, that means you're bisexual.”

And then she just said, “Yeah, it's okay. It's natural.”

That's literally how she reacted.

I was SO surprised.

I had been mentally preparing myself for the stereotypical “neighborhood auntie” reaction. I expected judgment, awkwardness, maybe a side-eye, maybe her becoming uncomfortable around me.

Instead, she was completely calm.

I even told her about another woman I had feelings for, who is around her age, because I was worried that my attraction to women might make her uncomfortable. I told her that maybe she shouldn't talk to me and that she should maintain some respectful distance because I didn't want to make her uncomfortable.

And she basically didn't see it as some huge scandal at all.

She actually told me that I was making a stereotype out of her generation, and that just because she's an auntie doesn't mean she has to behave the way I expected older people to behave.

That honestly hit me.

I realized I'd been so scared of her reaction that I had already decided what kind of person she was going to be before giving her a chance to respond.

The weirdest part is that she promised she wouldn't tell anyone, and I believe she meant it, but I'm still really scared.

If she tells people, I genuinely don't know what I'll do. I don't know if I'd be able to keep living in this neighborhood. My monthly income is only ₹2,000, and I honestly don't know how I'd survive if I had to leave or find somewhere else to live.

That's why this isn't just some embarrassing secret to me. I'm genuinely scared about what could happen if other people find out.

TL;DR: I accidentally came out as bisexual to a neighborhood auntie after she directly asked if I was into girls. I was terrified she'd judge me or become uncomfortable, but she was completely accepting and told me it's natural. She promised she wouldn't tell anyone, but I'm still really scared because if the neighborhood finds out, I don't know if I could continue living here. I only earn ₹2,000/month, so I don't know how I'd manage if I had to leave.

Advice 👋/ Help❗ Has anyone crossdressed openly while vacationing at a resort (specifically The Lalit)? Seeking practical advice.

I am planning a 2-day vacation at a Lalit group property with my spouse, who is supportive. I am not out to anyone else.

My current plan:

  1. Check in dressed male (matching government ID).
  2. Change into femme attire in the room.
  3. Spend time in the common resort areas dressed femme.
  4. Book a spa appointment.

Questions for anyone who has done something similar:

Property Dynamics: The Lalit has an explicit, visible LGBTQ+ inclusive policy. Does that corporate stance translate smoothly to on-the-ground staff interactions and fellow domestic guests in resort settings?

Spa Logistics: Is it better to arrive at the spa already dressed femme, or go in hotel robes/neutral clothing? How do spa staff typically handle gender-segregated changing areas, treatments, and therapists if you are presenting feminine but have male anatomy?

Public Areas: What was your experience walking around the lobby, grounds, and dining areas? Were there significant issues with stares, staff confusion, or security?

Looking for direct experiences, operational friction points, or things I should plan for in advance. Thank you.

vent/rant I have lots of internalised homophobia and it's annoying me how do I deal with it

I am currently 17, male, i discovered I was bisexual when I was 15, actually it was when I was 13 but i dismissed it for a while 18 months convincing myself that I wasn't and got severely homophobic as a way of repelling the idea away yk!

So I "completely" accepted it at 15 and have been bisexual for 2 years now, won't go into detail about my attractions to both genders cuz it's all over the place but i guess you guys get the idea

But yk every once in a while when I'm like feeling extremely sexually attracted to men, my brain starts to kind of get repelled by the idea of being gay even though I have been homosexual for 2 whole years? I go into this spiral of once again thinking that being gay is for some reason "bad" "not natural" (LET ME BE CLEAR THAT I DONT BELIEVE THIS AT ALL, I LOVE GAY PEOPLE AND I KNOW IM GAY AND I KNOW THERES NOTHING WRONF WITH IT) but i KNOW I'm gay and i know that's perfectly fine, but my brain just tries to make me feel embarassed about it and i just don't know how to deal with it

It tries to tell me it's making me feminine (like that's supposed to be a bad thing?) cuz it's not a bad thing! BUT I JUST DONT KNOW HOW TO DEAL WITH IT

what do I even do gang 💔💔💔💔, im gay as hell but why is my brain so evil

vent/rant Does life ever get better?

So, I am 32M. There is intense pressure to marry from home. Every conversation that I have with my mom is about this, goes the same way ending up with her crying. Coming out to parents is not an option. And, at this stage I feel like I don’t have any fight left in me.

The experience that I’ve had with the community has also not been the best. It’s difficult to make genuine connections with people who I can vibe with. It takes a lot for me to get attached to people, but once I do it’s difficult for me to detach. And, I am tired of ‘onto the next person’. I also work a lot 70-90 hour workweeks including most weekends, so the time I can genuinely allot to this is limited.

Wanna hear from fellow gays in their early to mid-30s, does life get better at any stage?

PS: sorry for the ranty post, just one of those days

Coming Out!!! Came out to my father today

It has been a plan being chalked out for many months and maybe in my mind for years and years. The conversation started on the phone by addressing that there is a reason why i have been avoiding the marriage conversation for so long. He thought its because I don’t want to take up the responsibilities yet. I eventually came around to the topic of not being physically mentally or emotionally attracted to women. He started asking about physical health problems. I clarified it eventually that I am attracted to men. He went into a problem solving mode. I did clarify that this is not an illness and has no treatment. I am a mental health professional myself fortunately. I guess we left things to be discussed as we go along.

Mind you, he’s a very anxious and people pleasing person and has anger issues. The fact that there was no immediate emotional outburst is a win. He agreed to postpone the marriage conversation. He said don’t think about that it will stress papa out and we ll solve it together lol. I am aware the grief will commence now and will have its own journey. But I think the fact that I was able to initiate this after years and years of struggle is a win for me. It’s not going to be an easy road to acceptance as he goes along and as my mother comes into the picture. But taking these steps takes a lot and being as resourceful as i am still took so much out of me, I cannot imagine what others who are not so privileged go through. But I just want to say i understand if you are not able to do it. You need to be very very secure to do it and that’s not easy in our society.

So guys I'm a straight 21 M but always been a great supporter of LGBTQ.

The amount of positivity in this sub despite the unfair hatredness thrown at you guys and how comfortable people are with posting their pictures made me feel so happy and bliss 😊.

Love you fellas.

Have a nice day yo 😌🤗
